I was certain we were not going to sign another player once we landed Osvaldo. But now puncheon and mayuka gone, I'm a little concerned.
What the **** are you on about? Ozil is a great creative player. I am not surprised by the fee. Most assists in la liga after Iniesta last season. Most keys passes per game in the league. And he scores goals.
I agree with Beefy. £10/20m too much. To put it into perspective it will make him the 11th most expensive player in the history of football (obviously fees are completely different now compared to years before but...) I just don't feel that he is a £40m player.
You're saying Ozil in the current market is worth 22m? That is madness. Not Arsenal's greatest position of need, though he's better than Cazorla anyway, but you don't say no to players like Ozil if you're a club in the position Arsenal are. They still need a CDM and ST in for me, but Ozil is one of the best midfielders in world football.
I just don't think he is worth £40m. If he can regain his form then maybe, but 40m is a hell of alot of money.
I don't know what qualifies a player as "world class", but he's a bit out of favour at Real. If it was my choice, I wouldn't have bid for him anyway.
he's consistently been good for Madrid and Germany. He is an assist and key pass machine whilst chipping in with goals. Teams are selling players for obscene amounts as it is and you don't think one of the best creative midfielders in the world is even worth 20m? hahahaahahahahahahahahaahahahahaaahaaaaa OK
Yeah Ozil is definitely not over priced. Saw a stat the other day that he has more assists than anyone else in world football over the last 2 years, not sure how reliable the source was.
I didn't say the other players were worth the money they went for either tho did I? Think you need to check your keyboard it may have sticky keys.
I know the point you're making but it's not exactly in a particularly mature manner. He's better than 20m, but I agree that he's not worth 45m either, or however much it is. There's no questioning the stats, but it is true that his Germany performances have outshone his Real performances. He'd be good for Arsenal if that wasn't already their strongest position. For me the transfer doesn't make much sense anyway.
