Well this rumour has just exploded into life! Sky sports are reporting Blackpool are interested in SB. They can jog on, We better not sell him, It's no good thinking if we sell him we'll use the money to replace him because we didn't do that with Adomah and Davies which is why we are so short of numbers. Cant afford to let anybody go today
If we sold Baldock, and were able to land Billy Sharp on a permanent deal, would you be happy? I'm happy for the club to play mid-table football, but only if SOD can work his magic and land us some youngsters that are hungry for success, and that will eventually dominate the Football League. If we sold Baldock (for a good price) to make way for three players like Jordan Wynter then I'd be quite happy. What I want to know, above anything else, is why the club still aren't earning enough to be able to spend freely. Somewhere, the club is failing massively, and it has affected the football side of the club. We could sack SOD and hire Mourinho or Fergie and still be in the same position. I fear that we will part company with SOD by Christmas, and that we'll end up with another short-term manager who will screw around with SOD's hard work so far.
Obviously but I don't want to sell Baldock on a 0.0000000000000000001% of us getting sharp. There is no need to sell. We do not need the money and we need Baldock
This will be disastrous - one of the few things worth having so far are his goals and contribution. I have little enough faith in the club as it as after events of the last couple of years without them confirming my suspicions. Conference here we come then
Of course other clubs are interested in Baldock. He has shown enough already this season why he was so highly thought of in the past. I'm sure some of our other players will arouse the interest of teams up and down the country as they progress over the next few years. Fact is, if a player is under contract he cant just walk away even though he may want to. If the board has its head screwed on it will ensure that all the best youngsters are under lengthy contracts. If the players have their heads screwed on, they will realise that the grass isnt always greener, and that ambition can be the trip wire to their careers. Just look at Maynard. Far better for them to be involved in a good young team that grows together and eventually rises up the league as one. Less can go wrong, both professionally and personally.
I would be suprised if this happens unless they bid stupid money (but they don't really have any) No way can we afford Sharp's wages even if Sam goes
What a mistake this would be. I'd like to say he's not going to leave, but I don't trust our board I'm afraid.
SOD just hit Twitter. "SO'D: "I don't anticipate any players going out." You'd have thought he'd have some sort of info this late on if SD was leaving?
10 weeks ago i might have seen some logic in such a move, but 10 hours before the window closes ?.... tell "em to shove their offer where the sun dont shine.
The only way I see SD leaving, is if we have some ridiculously good replacement lined up for a seasons long loan, with 1st option to buy afterwards. Forest had a similar deal last season with George Boyd I think, accept they didn't take up the offer and off he went to Hull. Quick aside, do the financial rules apply for loan signings, or just anyone within the club getting a wage?
Anyone getting a wage though if the wages or whatever proportion are payed by the owning club are not included so for example if(don't laugh) we loaned Sharp from Southampton and they paid 75% of his £30,000 wages (£22,500) we would have to be able to cover the 25% or £7.500 but that is only an example
Maynard is a PL player , playing with International footballers. Id say hes more than happy with his decision when he looks at the league table , his wages and the players he plays with and against. Promotion to the PL with 2 clubs. Alternative bottom end of League 1. Baldock looks like a good player whenever ive seen him. I doubt Blackpool will pay the transfer fee - unless Ince goes.
I think it's more a case of unless Karl Oysten leaves cos he does not believe in spending anything which I think is why Ince senior tried so hard to keep Ince Jnr for another year because if he had left he would not have been replaced it's interesting to know the only time Blackpool spent this window was when Karl was away on holiday so probably in a mellow mood.
That ain't going to happen if Barnsley, Sheff Wednsday and Doncaster are all offering 75% of his wages but Southampton are saying no they want 100%. This will not happen, I don't even know why I'm saying this again!!
