Newcastle are leading the race for England Under-21 star Tom Ince.

The Blackpool midfield player is also on Everton’s wanted list.

Newcastle director of football Joe Kinnear has Ince, 21, on his radar and is set to offer £8m.

Demba Ba could also return to the Geordies, either on loan from Chelsea or on a permanent basis.

Meanwhile, Marseille midfield man and Ghana international Andre Ayew has also been subject of a personal check by Kinnear.

And there is still an interest in Lyon frontman Bafetimbi Gomis.

    * NEWCASTLE are trying to off-load French flop Gabriel Obertan to Nottingham Forest on loan.

The former Manchester United winger, 24, has failed to cement a regular place since his £3million move from Old Trafford two years ago.

The deal hinges on whether Toon are prepared to pay a percentage of his £35,000-a-week salary.

    Thoughts Albert ??
I can't believe any of it, back in the day I believed everything I read.
Ba on loan would be morally wrong IMO but worse case scenario I would have him back if we signed him full stop

With the way we have approached transfers this summer, I doubt much is going to happen.

The main rumours going into the penultimate day of the transfer window are:

Gomis (apparently he's lowered his wage demands and requested his agent lowers his fees, and we have sent a new offer to Lyon)
    Ba (£3million loan fee?!!)
Ince (£8million? We'd probably be willing to offer £3million or something like that)
Ayew (If Thauvin goes to Marseille they'd probably be more willing to let Ayew go... But we won't offer his likely £10million plus asking price)

    Cabaye to Arsenal/PSG
Obertan to Notts Forest (on loan... for shame)

I have a feeling we will get Ince.
It's odd that he hasn't moved yet.

Tom Ince's stunning late second-half strike secured a 1-0 win for Blackpool against Watford and sent the Seasiders back to the top of the Sky Bet Championship.

Watford bossed the first half but Troy Deeney saw his penalty saved by Matt Gilks, while Marco Faraoni struck the frame of the goal twice, in a completely one-sided first half.

But Blackpool were much improved after the break and Ince's fine finish at the end of a mazy 81st-minute run made it four wins out of five for Paul Ince's men.

His old man wasn't too bad a player either, not that I liked him much off the field.

Sunday morning and the Sky Sports News taskbar is rolling out the info of clubs signing players as I post this. Was NUFC mentioned not a chance. Would love to post an apology if we can get someone or 2 in `` over the line ``.

Nah you're right to fear the worst, Pardew looked to have no trust in those above to do the necessary. He is clearly fearing the worst again so its only supporters fear the same. Its such a shame as seeing 3 players walk through the door would really capitilise on the small bit of relief and feel good we finally got yesterday. The squad is not a million miles away from being sure of not slinking into a relegation battle.

So, according to Pardew, if we can't afford to bring anybody in without selling Cabaye, that's not good enough.

We would need to splash the cash for Ince, so not much Chance. Pity as he has potential.

99% sure that Newcastle won't sign anyone today.

Everyone should save themselves the frustration and do something else instead. Plant a tree, walk the dog, help some old people across the road or something.
