Sturidge is on fire for l'pool atm just scored against the mancs, i don;t think SRL will get any game time in these upcoming matches, maybe he might come on for wellbeck but thats about all
Rodgers doing his best to claim that Sturridge is a doubt. Understandable I guess - on his current form, and with no Suarez, Liverpool really aren't going to want him to get injured.
Sturridge complaining of a Thigh injury. There almost as canny with him as we are with Luke Shaw. Wilshire limped off so not sure how England will line up I'd probably play Wellbeck, Sturridge & Walcott as a front three. Will he push Lampard or Gerrard forward or go for Barkley.
Daniel Sturridge withdraws from selection for Moldova game through injury. Hodgson will not call up a replacement. Leaves Welbeck, Lambert and Defoe.
Interesting piece in The Express about James Beattie at Accrington Stanley. Who? (Well you know the rest! ) He talks about Rickie Lambert who he has seen play when accompanying a relative with a Saints season ticket. He says that SRL is a better all round player than he was when he got his England caps (at a younger age, of course).
This has just appeared on The FA's website... Rickie Lambert is eager to shine in the absence of England strikers Sturridge and Rooney: http://www.thefa.com/england/News/2013/rickie-lambert-england-moldova.aspx#esQUBCRox2OBBcHQ.99
Unbelievable injury list for England, but this merely reflects the fact that the pool of English players is so small. Who could have foreseen that, in a space of a few weeks, Rickie has gone from an overlooked player to the chance of being his country's saviour. Hope it doesn't get to him and he has a great game...this may be where being older and mature is an advantage.
So he's starting that means he'll be wearing the Number 9 shirt. Doesn't that make you proud? England's number 9 - Rickie Lambert!
I sometimes have a punt on Rickie scoring first and have done quite well out of it in the past, just got 11/4 on him for tomorrow's game.
