Larsson actually doesn't do too badly in cm imo. I'd play him above Gardner and Vaughan but that's more of a reflection on Gardner and Vaughan than it is Larsson

PDC said he would use Catts if he stays so I hope he starts to do that

    Exactly

People would be knocking Di Canio for using a 19 year old in cm if he did play him yet I'm seeing people complain he isn't playing *sigh*

Cattermole is not the answer. Our central midfield has been a huge problem since Henderson, Cana and Meyler left, got injured, lost form...

You fail to see what i was saying so i'll spell it out to you. IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE 95% OF TEAMS HAVE POWERFUL, TALL, CENTRAL MIDFIELDERS WHO HAVE PACE, CAN TACKLE AND CAN RUN WITH THE BALL. SOME OF THE THEM MAY NOT HAVE THE BEST ABILITIES BUT THEIR SIZE AND POWER STOPS THEM GETTING DOMINATED. THE PROBLEM WE'VE HAD FOR YEARS IS SUB 5FT 9IN PLAYERS WHO ARE WEAK, LACK PACE AND ARE EXTREMELY SLOW! CATTERMOLE HAS A GOOD TACKLE BUT IS SLOW, CANNOT PASS AND OFTEN BYPASSED BY PLAYERS CAUSING HIM TO TACKLE FROM BEHIND AND GET YELLOWS AND THE ODD RED! OUR MIDFIELD IS ALWAYS DOMINATED AROUND THE 50/60 MIN MARK AND THE OTHER TEAMS JUST BYPASS IT, LIKE IT ISN'T THERE!

We need to match the teams around us and a small midfield is not the answer. None of them are particularly good footballers so we need size, pace and power in there!

Even if 'those want to disagree' If you've got a ballsack then you'll man up and respond with your own personal views.. Stop pussyfooting around, at the end of your posts lately it's 'i'm gonna get bitten in the arse with this' or telling other's they will... If your confident in your own beliefs you'll never have to justify it..

    And who's is Man United's? Liverpool's? Chelsea's? Arsenal's? Tottenham's? Swansea's? Norwich's? Fulham's? I could go on and on

YOU'RE TALKING OUT OF YOUR ****ING ARSE.

You mentioned Jedinak? He's not ****ing quick but that's an issue you keep banging on about

    Huddlestone is not ****ing quick

It doesn't matter that Catts isn't the quickest, anyway because you're talking a load of ****e and you keep contradicting yourself I'm not gonna bother

There was more than a physical presence missing in midfield yesterday, there was a distinct lack of drive, grit and imagination. And starting with those two up front gave me a sinking feeling before a ball was kicked.

Like the rest of you, I've no idea why Cabral or Catts weren't selected, in fact Sess would have done a better job in midfield compared to our insipid lightweight display. At least he would have driven forward through the middle instead of our relentless sideways passing to the flanks.

Our shape was bloody dreadful and Palace took advantage of our predictive hoof and run tactics.

Never mind looking for a leftback or strikers guys, we are desperate for an engine in midfield before any other luxuries, and that's a fact !

I agree about the **** MF.
I disagree with the JOS comment, if he wants to be a pussy for being called out on a dreadful defending mistake, then he isn't the MAN I thought he was.
No matter who caused it, it was **** defending by JOS in the final analysis.
Just because he is normally sound doesn't mean he can't take stick for a rudimentary mistake.

    I agree.

I'll not slate any of the new lads just yet as I think its too early and I'll not pretend I've any experience managing any team higher than sunday league but I used to do my homework on teams that we were going to be playing and set our lads up accordingly, Di Canio states that he picks the side based on who we're playing and for me that's not stacking up.... against ANY team you need to win the midfield and as soon as I saw the line up yesterday I had a sinking feeling cause it quite obvious that with those two that wasn't going to happen. I don't know why cabral isn't playing as he is clearly the type of player who will win you the midfield and theres no point bemoaning n'diaye's loan back to turkey ( I have a feeling that is more to do with family than football, and that he'll be back once his wife and new born are more settled).
I still have faith that Di Canio will prove to be a very successful manager with us, but persistently picking and aging winger as a centre midfielder is hard one to understand unless he believes that larsson is the closest player he's got to be able the pick a pass? But I was shouting at the tv yesterday for somebody to put a foot on the ball in the middle of the park. I'd like to have seen ba yesterday as I think it would have been a perfect game for him. I think we'll be busy today and tomorrow and can see us bringing in another 3 maybe 4, another centre mid, a left back and another striker possibly 2. Can also see a few leaving including Vaughan, sess and ji. Keep the faith, Rome wasn't built in a day and as a club we are building and learning a new way of working and so is our manager.
