We all know what we need.. We have a very solid defence, excellent midfield with Brady, Thud, Livermore & Koren etc.. But we're clearly lacking 1 or 2 quality forwards for us to make a difference.

The Allams have always said they dont like to say how much there is to spend and that they'll assess each target individually. They've proved that many times.. blowing our socks off with the Huddlestone & Livermore signings..

The problem they now have is deciding whether or not to spend more money on some attacking players. Bruce is saying in every interview that we need them, we as fans can see it and pundits are all saying they cant see where the goals will come from.

I really hope they do decide to fund 1 or 2 quality players before the window shuts on Monday night and let Bruce have the final piece of the jigsaw enabling us to stay in this division. It's a gamble I know but they brought Bruce in to get us promoted and KEEP us there.. He needs a little bit more money to be able to do that..

I think you answer you're own question. In an ideal world, yes, we should sign a striker. We all know that may not happen though.

Aluko's Finnish or lack of was embarrassing today, proving he's not upto the hype surrounding him. Verdicts out on Graham and Sagbo. But it Alukos our so called star then yes we need to buy a striker otherwise having a quality midfield and defence counts for nowt.

Hopefully the performance has shown the owners what the team are capable off and SB will be knocking on their door on Monday "If only I had a decent striker..."

It doesn't prove anything. Aside from his miss, he was outstanding today and he's a top player. The hype is rightly deserved.

We need a goalscorer and I think we're actively looking to bring one in. The Allams are reluctant to spend money; they've spent a lot already so to ask them to shell out more is a risk. Hopefully we'll see a new face before 11pm Monday.

I agree completely. I hope the Allams do pay attention to what goes down on the pitch and what the media/reports say about us. It'll be pretty obvious from their comments, that to sustain his dream of big brand big club football, we need an onion bag merchant!
As much as name changes might do this and that, beating (or at least competing with) teams like man city, chelsea, man utd etc is advertising and promotion you just can't buy.

    ^This

Hopefully there was a conversation something along the lines of 'prove the team is up to it and we will stump up the cash'
    We can hope.

One of Prossys goals v Cardiff helped us gain promotion. On that basis his fee is largely irrelevant, we can write it off as he helped get us where we wanted to be.

But in comparison to promotion it's a bargain

That same 'cheque book' also signed Davies, Livermore, Thudd, McGregor and Figueroa (yes I know he was free) I think that is enough evidence to take a gamble

Promotion wasn't expected. So, yes it can be treated that way.

I agree with others, it seems that we have a hell of a team minus the strike force. I would think that if someone can be bought that it will be done. The Allams have to see that it would be less of a risk to buy someone after the last 3 performances.

Most people on here didn't expect promotion - play offs as a minimum was the general consensus.

What a load of bollocks, one miss doesn't define a player, Aluko's a really special talent, one scuffed wide shot doesn't change that.
