Very good performance in the first half, decent showing in the second half, but in the end we were beaten by one lapse of concentration at the back and a brilliant free kick.
 
My only concern is carrying performances like this over against the soton's and palace's. If we do so then we will stay up and probably do something similar to stoke.

We must applaud the team today. Forget result, we looked incredible I think. We looked confident on the ball and the passing was brilliant. Lacking a solid striker but the chances were there.

If you'd had offered me 3 points after 3 games I'd have snapped your hand off. Aluko should've made it 1-0 to us and that could've changed the game completley. He's better than that and he'll work to improve.

The armchair 'big club' fans will always label us relegation fodder, but quite frankly, who cares? It's hardly an insult to be relegated: "oh, well ok, we'll just take our TV money and our parachute payments and be back next year." It's going to be a tough year, but it looks as though the only thing we need is a proper striker. The midfield were cracking, the defence put their bodies on the line (although that's not the first time Elmo has drifted out of position to let in a goalscoring opportunity) and our keeper looks better than a lot of other bottom half teams. Our season isn't going to be measured by games like this; it's the likes of Newcastle, Cardiff, Palace and Sunderland we want to be picking up points against.
 
Great performance, only one lapse of concentration and a world class dive showed the difference between the two sides.

Lots of positives to come out that. Everyone played well.




Also, Fernandinho MOTM? **** off.
 
We need to break the bank if necessary to acquire a proven goalscorer our approach work was brilliant, up front we are woeful, as has been the case for quite a while now.

I missed 30 mins so can't comment too much..

he looked BETTER but didn't see anything good enough to put doubts to bed. His job is to score goals and he's yet to do so in a year and a half.
