when english clubs were banned from europe you would not have qualified for the european cup. The lowest ranked of the 3 european trophies pre CL was the cup winners cup(although because they won it they think different),cup winners from the poorest footballing nations of europe,a competition that could be entered by 2nd division clubs that had a lucky cup run(ala sunderland). The Uefa cup was a bigger competition competed for by the 2nd and 3rd placed teams from the big footballing nations,it also had a two legged 3rd round and a two legged final and was by far a harder competition to win. dont believe the utd hype 19yrs.

Other than the EC/CL the rest of the cups in europe are ****e. Our win only means something as it was the first by an english club after the ban. Besides that its insignificant. Its the CL or nothing. Think of the fairs cup, CWC and other ****e as different versions of the Confederates Cup.

Footballs existed since 1992 you know. I know its hard to take but it didnt actually end in 1992. it became better and more professional aswell as more accessible to people. Its got very little in common with the game of old. Football actually started around 160/170 years ago. Earlier versions of the game can be traced back 3000 years. Also......quite a few liverpool fans in this thread and on this board agree the Fairs Cup/Europa League is merely a hindrance. Also....EC or CL. Which is harder to win. Are you avoiding it because the answer is the CL? You are aren't you. Because if it was easier to win you would of won more considering you have had plenty of chances.
