Disappointed to lose like that but lots of positives tonight. We look like the Chelsea of old. Hard to beat, everyone busting their balls for the whole game and we created some good openings.

The ref was definitely heavy handed tonight! Playing with 10 men in a major fixture like this spoiled the party! Even so, to go down on a close penalty shoot out suggests to me we've got more than a good chance to square things in the CL !

What you on about. Should have been a straight red never mind he was already on a yellow. Horrendous challenge, his knee almost snapped

Except it was nowhere near his knee, it connected with his ankle.

Don't mind if we end up losing the Super Cup year in year out. Hope we lose it in 2014 too.

So unlucky. Proved we are up their with the best though. Reckon we'll be unstoppable in the Premier League in a few more games.

We won't face any better than that tonight. We played well and maybe deserved to win it in normal time. Great performance all round though. Would like to have seen a bit more of Mata but Jose made the right desicions when it can to subs. Had we had 11 men on the field we maybe could have held out the extra 20 seconds.
Rivals worried much by that performance? If not, they should be.

Probably about as much as you're worried about arsenal after they beat bayern last year...

No it was the meaningless super cup final.

Say what you want, I was being flippant. Whatever your performance tonight, you'll finish miles ahead of arsenal. However if I supported an actual title rival team, your performance tonight wouldn't worry me in the slightest.

Did I say it did, does it have to connect with the knee to injure the knee? From personal experience I snapped my cruciate from a ****ty tackle hitting the side of my shin. If you watch the replay you can clearly see the knee bend in a direction it was never supposed to go, filthy challenge. Classic Mourinho influence, all your team needs is Pepe and the circle will be complete

The shin is far more likely to impact the knee because it has a direct link to it, the ankle doesn't as the ankle is a different socket.

As for 'classic Mourinho influence', you're a ****ing idiot.

In case you can't see tv pictures, Ramires boots landed studs down on the leg above the ankle, which is why you can see his knee bend. Also even if it was on the ankle, locking the ankle in place can still easily bigger the knee as the player's momentum takes him forward

His knee may well have bent fella, but he hit his ankle. The way you suggested was as if his studs were aiming toward his knee, which would indeed be an awful challenge. This wasn't a challenge, he went to win the ball (successfully may I add) and went the wrong way about it.

I thought it was a very good game as a neutral viewpoint. Never a sening off offence, not sure if it was even worth a yellow card! Great goal from Torres just unlucky and it's not shame to lose on penalties. To hold a very good team for so long with 10 men (the ref was card happy) UNLUCKY. Enjoyed watching the game and you will take some beating this season. <applause>

As a side note. I know Terry missed a pen but, do Chelsea fans think it was his decision not to take that 5th pen? Felt sorry for the lad but anyone can miss. Re Jon Walters <doh> good luck for the season but, I doubt you will need luck, I honestly believe with 11 men you would have held on for the win.
