She's definitely a looker Stick, hope you have some wonderful afternoons with her. Now get your nose back to the form books and get us a few more of those juicy winners! By the way, have you seen how many have DumBarton down as our Saviour?
What a lovely looking horse she is stick....but just like any lady she will no doubt cost you money, break your heart and let someone else ride her lol only joking mate hope she brings you lots if fun on her hopefully safe journey
Today was the day when I got to meet my filly and watch her do some light work at Charlie Longsdon's. She did a couple of canters up the hill with four others including Ely Brown and My Miss Lucy. She isn't in serious work yet but on the gallops today she looked like a horse with a nice action and did what was asked in a very relaxed manner. She will get some serious work in the next couple of weeks and work the condition off and muscle up. Her pedigree is definitely one of a staying chaser and her action suggests she wont mind a bit of cut. Presenting's usually like top of the ground and are not particulary bred for bumpers but as is Charlie's style that is where she will start her education. All being well she should have her first outing sometime in November. It was a good day to be at the yard as PENDRA had arrived back this morning from a summer at Martinstown. He is a seriously good looking horse and is likely to make up into one of this seasons leading novice chasers. He has thrived over the summer and next time I am at Charlies in a couple of weeks time I expect to see him really muscling up. Charlie turns all his horses out in the afternoon after morning work and watching them relaxed in the large paddock was really something else. It really does seem a very happy yard.
Top Man Shares his views, tips and thoughts and wears his heart on his sleeve love the man best of luck my good man
Stick - I too have plumped for a small part (1/20) of a horse in Ben Paulings yard. Ben was a friend a uni and has left Nicky Henderson and set up his own stable. The horse is called Malibu Sun and finished 2nd to Cinders and Ashes on his first start. Unfortunately he suffered an Achilles' tendon injury. Has been off the course for the last year and we are just hoping to have a few enjoyable days out. Good luck
Nice one Doge. Ben will be a name all on here know before you know it. He has bought some lovely types from the sales during the summer. He has an ex Charlie Longsdon horse called KELLYS BROW at the yard and I am confident that one will pay his way this winter. I hope you have a lot of fun days with your fella, I think I put him up once or twice when he was with Oliver Sherwood. Best of luck and really hope he stays sound for you!
Super stuff stick... Really glad your enjoying it. Fingers crossed for a few good days out with her...
Nice one stick and Doge , hope ya can both have a very good and enjoyable time with your horses and get in the winners enclosure a few times at least. Hope it all goes well.
Present Trend continues to impress Charlie and seems to have enjoyed the increase in her work this week. She is moving very well and Charlie reports that she is on target to make her racing debut in the first week of November. The plan remains to give her a run in a national hunt flat race in order to give her a nice introduction and some racecourse experience.
