According to the Villa website, tickets are on sale for their away game at Hull City Tigers. <grr>

I've let them know about the mistake they've made.

In better news, our application form for Newcastle away says 'Hull City'(unlike the Man City one, which said 'Hull City Tigers').

    Ditto.

I think we should all contact them. It could end up being a topic of conversation between the club officials, possibly adding to the proof of it being a **** up that makes the club look amateur.

I got an automated reply, telling me to phone up the ticket office, or write them a letter, so much for modern technology.

Looks like the men in suits on the business side of the club are having a game against Villa's first team.

    Lambs to the slaughter this.

    Madness.

agree with the yawn comments. Are we going to have this tiresome rehashing of outrage every time the Hull Tigers are mentioned by the club.

Yep, pretty much, until the message is driven firmly home. Let's face it. It's what the Club itself should be doing as it flies in the face of their version.

Perhaps those 'bored' should not open threads where it's pretty obvious what the content will be.

Didn't say I was bored - but hand on heart how many people honestly believe that a petition/numerous threads on a forum which Papa probably doesn't read will have any effect on his decision to rename us.

Have Cardiff changed back to a blue kit since the protests by their fans, Have Coventry moved their home games back to the Ricoh due to fans' protests and did MK Dons relocate back to Wimbledon due to protests. NO, NO and NO - and that list will increase, so to pretend that Hull City AFC fans will actually be able to succeed in a protest is living in a reality far away from what is going on in the world. We do not have local businessmen running each and every league club with players drawn from a 25 mile radius of the ground with full stadiums made up of local fans (as no one would dare support a non local team) as happened 100 years ago.

I'm not sure you should have used Coventry as an example, they no longer have anyone supporting them and their owner has completely killed them as a club.

The fight goes on until the owner sees sense.

With Cov they travel to away matches, but don't go to Norhampton for (Home Matches).

Saw the other day that Villa were putting on free coaches for their fans to come here. Thought ours were more reasonable prices.

    Dunno why they've done that.

Ok maybe Coventry is not the best example - but if they went back to the Ricoh this season the fans would reappear (but none of us on here know the real facts of that club)

Papa Allam is a successful business man - so why would he change something if he didn't think it would work and would end up costing him millions.

If anything the reason not to post these types of threads is that it attracts people to say they don't care, we know the club reads these forums time to time. All these threads just show that a lot of people aren't that bothered so it encourages their argument to not change it back.

I really get sick of this getting quoted all the time. Describe how? Do you mean he has Alzheimers? If so its in very poor taste. If you mean he's eccentric and he does things his own way, well great I'm glad he is. He speaks his mind and has out of the box ideas. ****ing brilliant, just what this sleepy old club has needed for years. While doing that he is also organising and arranging the finances in a sustainable way. More power to him.
