    Footballer throws barbecue for fans

    Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse has welcomed a group of young fans to his luxury Northumberland home - and invited them to spend the evening with him playing pool and computer games.

    The footballer opened the doors of his mansion in Ponteland to eight youngsters and their parents, where he put on a barbecue.

    The Senegal international had a kick-about in his sizeable back garden with the young fans and handed them signed shirts.

    Cisse played the FIFA computer game with his guests and watched Scooby Doo on his giant TV screen with them during the meeting which lasted several hours.

    The multi-millionaire, who has a strong rapport with supporters, told the Newcastle-based Chronicle newspaper:

    "I wanted to spend more time with my fans. They are very important to me.

    "I have missed them over the summer so I wanted to see them again at the start of the season."

    You mean the place in Northumberland, with the airport? I'm not called Tom Tom, but the last time I checked its about a good 7/8 miles from Newcastle. Its about as far as Chester-le-Street is from Durham.
