Gillingham FC ‏@TheGillsFC 2m "We're talking with another club at championship level about a player and if it goes accordingly they could be in for Sat" Martin Allen
This was on Football Rumours site a couple of days ago. that we will sign Ross Jenkins on a season long loan. Now the FR site is notoriously unreliable, but he is at Watford,he is a midfielder and he played well against us in the pre season friendly last season. He's also tall, and was loaned out last season to Plymouth and Barnet. I think it could be possible it's him http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ross_Jenkins_(footballer_born_1990)
Would be happy if it is Ross Jenkins or Josh Wright as they are 2 names which are being mentioned, however I have a horrible feeling that it will be a right back meaning that Harriman is going back to QPR, just hope I am wrong as I really hope we can keep Harriman for the rest of the season.
I've also seen Jonathan Greening's name being touted about. Tbh I didn't realise he was still playing until last week. Out of favour at Nottingham Forrest and he desperately wants games. Plenty of Premier League experience. At 34 though it might upset brb a bit
Greening to me seems like the best option of the bunch, need an experienced player who can simply put a foot on the ball and then pass it, have a lot of all action midfielders but nobody to do the simple things.
There's also a rumour that its Bradley Jordan from Charlton. A 20 year old play maker and he's signed on a 6 month deal. Probably a rubbish story though
I was with forest a few weeks ago they were here in the Algarve pre season training, he looks good but a bit of a loose cannon
But he's unattached ,so although he may be training with us, we're not likely to be talking to a championship club about him. I think though, that he's a defensive midfielder,so do we need another one of that type?
He's more of an attacking player that can also play on either wing. More in the Spiller, C. Allen mould if you like (but probably better).
Not a silly shout by any means, speaks volumes that he is coming in for this legends thing on saturday when Ipswich (his current employers) have a match on that day! Obviously not in the scene in the championship so maybe a move to one of his 'loves' (he described the club as that on his twitter) might be attractive to him. Also Nelson was by far and away the best goalkeeper in the league last year and has started the season well so maybe a Championship club wanted to take him on I wouldn't begrudge him a move away. My personal outside bet would be for Marlon King to make a sensational return seeing as Birmingham have released him and when he was here the club stood by him during his first spell in Jail. I know he will want silly wage and there is next to do chance of him returning but I hope that he may want to actually play regular football in the twilight of his Career! Coming back down to earth it was probably Josh Wright but wanted too much money so we scrapped the deal and are now working on putting together a package for Gary Dicker who is probably a better all round player.
Gary Dicker would be a good catch for the Gills so I hope it's him we are going for. I trust MA to make good choices so don't think that Marlon King is in his thoughts I certainly would not want him at our club!
I think I read somewhere that Marlon might be going to the train spotters. Millwall fans that I know,do not rate Josh Wright at all. They say all he does is pass the ball sideways.
Josh Wright always played well in a Gills shirt, just quietly went about his business and did a lot of stuff that fans missed. However with us having both Linganzi and Gregory, quite frankly we don't need another defensive minded midfielder and hopefully these rumours are untrue. I'm still hoping for Gary Dicker to be true.
If Marlon King were to sign, we'd all have to get the ladies in our lives self defence lessons in case they bumped into him! Seriously, the guy has blown multiple second chances so I don't really want to see him back.
