If Marshall is the only squad player that clubs are interested in, we have to sell I'm afraid. Welcome to the world of FFP.
Now confirmed. Not too fussed to be honest. Plenty of potential but lacks the workrate and attitude to progress. wish him all the best though
Funnily enough Ben Marshall best performance last season argubably came against Blackburn at home where he set up Chris Wood goal and created alot of chances
I think the most worrying aspect is neither Pearson or any back room staff knew anything about it. Does this mean the henchman will sell any saleable assets without even talking to the manager. What if Nugent kasper or knocky are sold ...I see trouble looming
I dont believe for 1 second that NP knew nothing about it. He would have had the final say on Marshall, its not like Blackburn have blown our socks off with an offer for him. If Nigel seen Marshall having a massive role to play do you really think we would have sold him for 1M The rumour is anyway Marshall was struggling to settle in the midlands and wanted a move back up to the Manchester area where he and is family are from
I'd say that Nige gave him a list of players who he defo wanted selling, who he would like to be sold, who he wouldn't mind keeping and who wasn't for sale.
Well proud they didn't seem too knowledgable about it last night, or they are pretty pissed about what is going off behind the scenes . Im not a pearson fan as you know, but if he is the manager, let him manage. There are lots of rumours going about, that the henchman will sell anyone or any thing to cut costs. He has no allegiance to us
Thats what I think People like Kasper, Morgan, Knockaert, King, James, Dyer, De Laet, Schlupp, Wood and Nugent was keep at all cost Players like Waghorn, Marshall, Drinkwater was keep but see what sort of deals we can get for them And the rest pretty much up for transfer
Unfortunately FFP has made managing a football club much more complicated. We have to get our wages down to a certain level, and it seems someone has to be brought in solely to deal with that aspect of running the club. I think any player that doesn't get into Pearson's core, say, 15 players is for sale I'm afraid. Pearson will be aware of this; I find it hard to believe he knew nothing about Marshall's transfer - it was in the nation newspapers for Heaven's sake - but he might not be heavily involved in transfers out during this tricky period, not until we balance the books at least.
issue is that anyone who signed a new contract during that time - ie gallagher, king, moore(?), dyer(?) will still be on wages higher than most clubs.
Dyer and Moore will be on sensible wages King and Gallagher will be on high wages. While King is an assest so its not the biggest issue with him. While his wages or too high its high earners who are not use to us like Danns, Gallagher and to an extent Konchesky and St. Ledger which is the biggest issue
I always have mixed feelings when I hear this. Partly I understand, but part of me thinks that he would get first team football here if he worked for it. Sometimes a move reignites a career though, so good luck to him. I suppose it's kind of a compliment to us that a player leaves us for Blackburn to get in the first team there!
Apparently Ben Marshall also said some players are unhappy here and want to leave Aslong he is on about about people like Gallagher, Danns and Futacs I dont think anyone is too bothered
