Just thinking about greatest SAFC strikers both past and present and it got me thinking. Who will get the biggest cheer from the away fans on Saturday when they make their substitute appearance - SKP or Steven Fletcher? I was there in midweek when Fletch got a massive cheer just for warming up so what will it be like when he makes his first appearance this season? Whilst I think Steven Fletcher is a great striker and I believe him and Jozy Altidore will be awesome together could they replicate the SNQ and SKP partnership from the Peter Reid era? Imagine a 50 goal partnership like they had with one of them winning the Golden boot. I know I am getting carried away here and in reality I would settle for 10+ from each of them but we can only hope. SKP is the only striker from an away team that I want to score at the SOL this season and I will be genuinely chuffed for the guy if/when that happens this season, as long as we still win the game of course! I think they will both get very well deserved cheers but I would like the volume to be just a little bit louder for SKP. That guy is a credit to football and a superb role model for youngsters on how to conduct yourself as a professional footballer.
Fletcher of course Super Kev will be cheered as well but Fletcher is our current goal machine (not to the same degree as skp, but still)
I honestly believe it will be SKP ........ we'll often get the chance to cheer Fletch but this may be the last season we ever get the chance to see SKP. Even some people who don't appreciate some of his comments, since leaving, can't deny his contribution and will cheer. The cheers will be for different reasons and will be slightly different to the ear ...... if you understand what I mean by that.
