Evening all. (Bristol City Fan) Thought I would post this for the some of you interested. I've watched JET progress from when he was at you lot. He seemed like a real gem and one for the future when he was with you but obviously things didn't work out. He then moved to Ipswich where again I watched him and Jewell/McCarthy played him out of position on the left wing. Ever since his summer move to us he has been magnificent, Literally mind blowing at times. The skill he has on the ball and the confidence he has is unbelievable. I've seen him run past players with ease about 20 times so far and again last night when we beat palace (he scored our first) He completely ran the show. This has come down to our manager playing him in his best position. Just behind the striker, From what ive seen so far he is easily premiership quality and from what ive been told from Cardiff and Ipswich fans, He had the ability to go to the top, He was just lazy and didn't seem bothered. Can't say that's the impression ive got from him so far. A great player and its obvious to see he has Arsenal in his DNA. So far he has 4 goals in 6 games and about 5/6 assists. Truly an Incredible player. P.S hope we get you in the draw tonight Good luck for the rest of the season and especially sunday
JET was always going to need more time to develop than he would get at Arsenal. Like so many of our youth, he had great promise but Arsenal just couldn't give him the time he would need to get to the top level.
He's another Frimpong, league one player at best, struggled in the championship last couple of seasons
I don't know which Cardiff fans you were speaking to, but I and others on this board think he was rather **** when he played for us!
He was pretty impressive at youth level, but I always thought he was just too big and strong for the other players, and that's why he looked good. He used to bully players at that level, but as soon as he stepped up, he got found out.
Very common at youth level to see a player like this, who is a good athlete and develops physically early, looking like he is a good player. I'm surprised he took Arsenal in for so long. Coaching as much as I do at the youth level this interests me. Over the last few years we have got better at spotting (and protecting) the small quick player that stays small (the Messi type). We still have a lot of trouble spotting the late developing kid that is awkward and has co-ordination issues as he grows.
Maybe he has just found his level? But hopefully he can progress further, because I guess it's always nice to see a player from academy do well.
