Rodgers says toures injury "doesn't look good but skrtel should be fit for weekend". Possibly the worst player to have picked up an injury for us. Think he has been excellent in all games so far.

Begs the question again of why the hell we've been chasing midfielders and wingers when the blindingly obvious position that we were short was centre back. Hope Toure recovers well but let's hope this weekends game isn't a complete slaughter now. Pull your ****ing finger out Rodgers (and your head out of your arse).

It's amazing how one injury has changed my outlook for Sunday! What a dreadful night for us - 3 injuries!

After Sunday, at least we have the international break so Kolo can recover. But I'm absolutely gutted that he's injured - his experience has been crucial. And I hope we get another full back - Johnson is awful.

Good news though guys, with Allen going off injured, Hendo should get the nod for Utd.

Wisdom or Kelly are fine to fill in at right nack but do we really want them playing in the middle against RVPee and Rooney?? Terrible squad management, we've had two months to sort another CB yet we've been chasing luxury players. Well luxury players are **** all use when your defence is ridiculously light on numbers.

    don't be so reactionary...

just cos glen johnson crewed the pooch and left toure out there that groin could have happened v utd and we'd be in toruble. now we can get skertl and agger out there.... and skertl will have a point to prove won't he.

its not the end of the blooming world!

sure buy this or that fine... great we can go do so still

sunday skertl and agger will play. gerrard and lucas will play, sturridge will play... i can name our team and bench to 90% surity so whats the issue. one guy out and we're relegation candidiates?

It's hardly reactionary MITO. Some of us havebeen saying for the last THREE transfer windows that we need to strengthen at the back and we simply haven't done anything. I've tried to resist bleating on about it because no one wants to read a ton of moaning posts on a footy forum but it's been a weak area for a long time (in terms of squad depth and first team quality) and the only person who seems not to have noticed is themost important person at the club. Stick it on the list of **** ups <ok>

I could not agree more. Johnson is an epic pile of ****e. I would drop that clown in a heartbeat and play Wisdom there.

We could look to go three at the back - Agger left, Wisdom center and Skrtel right. Unusual to put the inexperienced man in the middle, but as a unit will fit together best as Wisdom has the pace to cover. Alternatively, swapping Skrtel and Wisdom.

Either way, this'll allow Johnson and Enrique more licence to get forward and also to support the midfield. Midfield two of Gerrard and Lucas, with Henderson and Coutinho supporting Sturridge.

Isn't that Kenny effectively did when he first arrived and our form was scintillating?
