All this bile is because OLM said "Which takes us back to the original point, we were already The Tigers, if the club want to market us as that abroad there's no problem with it, it didn't require the club to change name." I can't find any ridicule or abuse in that sentence, if you can then there is no hope for you i'm afraid.
I think the Allam's have done a brilliant job, they have my eternal gratitude, I just don't think they should change the club name. Just because they've been good for the club, it doesn't mean I have to accept every change they want to make and I believe if to the detriment of the club, then I'll say so. Presumably, if they wanted to change the name to Hull City Pansies, you'd object too, it's just a question of where you want the bar to be set.
That's fair comment, I find the indifference towards actually changing the name of our club both astounding and frustrating and it's caused me to go on one occasionally.
Why is there abuse from those who aren't bothered either way though? You can understand people being upset when they're against the change, and this could spill over into ill-advised comments. You'd obviously rather it didn't... But those who don't care? Why the anger? Unless of course it's just to try to wind people up further, in a non-constructive way, on an emotive subject. It lacks class. If I didn't care, I'd just stand aside and let what will be...be. I wouldn't go out my way to argue, and drive a wedge.

Possibly because some posters have attempted to ridicule them, abused them and/or accused them of not supporting the club (or not fit to support the club) etc? All supporters are passionate about their club, and all have different views on how the club and/or team should be run. Sites like this that promote healthy debate are great. When it descends into petty name-calling and "one-up manship" and attempts (by both sides) to ridicule the views of someone else with a differing view it gets pathetic and risks the site losing some decent posters
I think it's a desperate shame that the club have divided the fans so badly by doing this. I hate reading these types of pissing contests and I am trying to gain an understanding of the mindset. Dreadful set of affairs really.

I don't want any of the posters who object to the so called name change to change their views . If they see it in a different way to others, then so be it ! It's the ones who won't let other posters have their view and start throwing insults around. How many have come on this site and tried -or abused posters-for holding their negative views on the rebranding ? I don't think I've seen one post where any "does it really matter" supporter has tried to dissuade someone from objecting to it ! It all seems to be one way traffic ! It's the one sure way of entrenching their opinion further and you'll never win the argument that way. Their are loads of people I talk to (not on here, obviously) who have no feelings either way and will still go to see "City" or "Tigers" Even the people who still refer to them as either of those words, run the risk of offending some people on here. Name change bad. History good. Shows culture. Name fans grew up with. Our club not plaything. Hull Tigers bad. Ignoring fans terrible idea. Makes fans seem less connected to club. Like fans opinions don't matter. Excuses for name change don't have sense. Global brand built on success, not on name of company. Just thought I'd sum it up in caveman speak for those who were still sitting on the fence and don't see what all the fuss is about.
Why are you obsessed with saying the one's who aren't Anti "don't care". It's getting like a mantra. We do care. We care a lot. We just don't care about a simple name change. We care about our club. We care about our team. We care about our board and owners. We care about being called plastics, or none real fans, or any of the bullshit that's leveled at us because we don't want to follow a small but vocal minority on these forums. Stop saying we don't care. We do. If you want to ask why people are angry and trying to wind up people in a non constructive way, on an emotive subject, you should be questioning why provocative and trolling polls like this are up. There's only one possible answer, and that's then being twisted to mean something that people clicking that option don't mean, because they can't choose the 2nd response because its skewed. You were right earlier btw, I win either way. My club and team will still be here regardless, and I will continue to support and care about them for a long time to come. That's why I'm not angry about this, but as I care, I will comment on lies and speculation. The Anti's will lose I guess, or in fact have already lost in some areas, so that's why they're angry.
