You have to blood players in these games. There are no excuses, the team we field will be good enough to beat Morecambe.

I've never wanted my team to lose a game in my life and I wont start today on a hypothetical question on whether or not Pardew gets the sack.
We win tonight and move onto the next game.

Pardew will be judged on the league not the cup competitions.

Too want to lose a game to a team like Morecambe is something I cant get my head round, irrespective of anyone's position on Pardew.
I believe he should go for many reasons, but, I will never want the team to lose no matter what.

Apparently Yanga-Mbiwa will be captain, which should mean him and Williamson as CBs.

I'm guessing Pardew will start with a combination of Sammy, Obertan, Gouffran and Cisse up top (reckon he'll have Shola on the bench), with Bigi, Anita and maybe Gosling in midfield (if Tiote is still out). I imagine Debuchy will play RB, since we've little alternative there.

That would mean a fair amount of pace up top but with if we resort to the long ball their defenders shouldn't have any problem winning the aerial contests.

I think Shola will start with Gouffran. Cisse might well be rested.

    Elliott

    Debuchy, MYM, Willo, Dummett

    Obertan, Bigi, Gosling, Sammy

    Gouff, Shola

That's where my money is. Think it'll be a fairly rank performance with far too many long punts to Shola. Saving grace may be Dummett's ability to cross and Gouff/Obertan's pace, I don't think the lower leagues have that kind of speed. I am worried for tonight, though. It's the spirit/confidence that does it for me.

This is the thing. With Pardew acknowledging the dreaded possibility that we might easily lose our next two games and get no one in, what kind of confidence is that inspiring in the players?

Never want my team to lose. EVER.

But we really could do without this game, its like a lose lose situation.

Win and we can conclude we have done a professional job but quite simply we should be winning anyways so nothing here.
Lose and hellfire will start. The players confidence will be shot!

I hope we play well thats more important to me. A good hammering would be good for confidence. But I am seriously concerned about this game

I think it's a pointless arguement cos he won't be sacked! MA would have to pay up the rest of his 8 year contract if he did and we all know what a tight cnut he is!

Actually, this is a fair point. More than fair. It's my opinion that Ashley is on his way out. It'll take two or three years, I think, but he has changed his recruitment strategy massively to bring in loan players and it does look like all we'll sign on top are more loanees. He was always about buying cheap up front. Now it's about ensuring survival in the Prem as cheaply as possible. Loans do that, and they're markedly short term. Pardew should, more or less, also have enough to keep this club up. He's on pittance, doesn't demand transfers and is even happy to sit with Joe Kinnear's c0ck shoved firmly up his jacksy. Why would Ashley get rid? Not only would it cost in compo, but it would also cost in hiring a new guy who might want a bigger wage, plus there's all that messy "I want my own players" business. Kinnear couldn't do it, because it would then cost to bring in another director. No, none of this makes business sense at all. By far the cheapest option, which more or less guarantees income from gates and television, is Pardew and loan players.

I need to change my vote - I'd rather we won, because a win is a win and bishbosh is bang on - Pardew wouldn't be sacked anyway.

Is that because anyone above League Two causes too many problems?

Voted yes, but in all honesty it would have to be a no.

Just read a Pardew quote on twitter saying "if it comes down to a physical game, we will lose" wtf is that about!!

Come on man, surely we are better than this? And that is why I want him gone.

It's because the bloke is inept in every department. Getting excuses in before we play the mighty giants known as Morecambe is pathetic, laughable but most of all not surprising.
