    2m for raylor
    19m from my own pocket
    would tell pardew to strengthen the squad in LB(cover)/RB/CB/RW/2xFWD

    would also save money by releasing lover/smith

    If I was Mike Ashley though, I'd give him the 35 million from Carroll's sale plus whatever he makes from sales. Then whatever I was going to give him (10mil for the sake of argument) I would take for myself to pay back part of the money the club owes me (then gradually get the rest back by taking a bit of Sky money each year).

    £30m from the Carroll transfer. £10m from my own pocket.

    £5m of Carrolls transfer goes to wages. Then free up wages by giving Barton & Nolan new lower wage contracts and sell Xisco and Smith.

    I'd be a ****ing great chairman.

    I don't think it should simply be a case of 'what do we have' and more a case of 'what do we need'.

    But, for the sake of conversation, I'd be looking to spend at least £25m solely on players fees.

    With the play-off game this season being reported as high as £90m (TV revenue and sponsorship) and with a decreased wage-bill even with the whole £35m spent, we could still realistically break even next year.

    Let's say we purchase the following:

    Cabaye - £4.5
    Gervinho - £13m (I've heard anywhere from between 8 and 18, so bang in the middle)
    Gamaiero - £10m
    Taylor - £1m

    That would have us looking like a serious european contender and certainly a realistic shout for a domestic cup (which I think we'll be targeting)!

    It wouldn't be your own money though would it.

    Ashley isn't using his own money to buy these players.

    He put £100m of his own money in to keep the club running but all the money he uses is the clubs money generated by the club.

    11 mil for Gameiro
    5 mil for Cabaye
    The last 5 mil from the Carroll

    Sell Ameobi (1.5m), Routledge (1.5m), Perch (1m), Smith (1m) - 5 mil to give to Pardew.

    Plus 5 mil from my own pocket.

    45 millon. That seems like a fair amount. I'd also offer Enrique a pay raise to stay at the club, sign Barton on a 4 year contract.

    So that's 30 mil to get those 3 good players, plus another 15 mil to buy extra players.
