Onuoha keen to forget QPR cup debacle Nedum Onuoha of QPR 28/08/2013 By David McIntyre Nedum Onuoha says QPRâs players are keen to forget Tuesdayâs Capital One Cup debacle against Swindon. Rangersâ second-round defeat against the League One side means they have now lost four of their last five home ties in the competition â three of them against lower division opposition. And defender Onouha, who was given a tough time by Robins striker Nile Ranger, insists his team must quickly move on and focus on their promotion challenge. He said: âIt was great disappointment, because at home we fancy our chances against anyone. âWe were very much off the pace and struggling and Swindon took advantage of that. We allowed them to play. âBut Clint [Hill] made a great point that weâre really disappointed from this game but we need to learn our lessons from it, and we canât really dwell on it. âThe minute you go back to the training pitch you must forget about it.â
....easy by the sound of it. They learn their lessons by 'not dwelling on' and 'forgetting' them. Nice trick if you can pull it off.
debacle is a brilliant word Nines and I haven't heard it for many a year.. sums up the evening perfectly.. I went for the BOGOF deal but couldn't get rid of the free ticket.. gonna use the word every day now and not just in connection with the R'S..
Its not as if its a shock, I think now thats four losses at home to L1 or L2 clubs in the cup. The only way Id go is if I could tube there, I wouldnt spend anything on travelling as its a waste. That would have cost me £50 or so to attend. Some idiot once said, "fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice.......dont get fooled again"
Thought it was "fool me once, shame on you! Fool me twice, shame on me....."? Anyway, like someone else said on another thread, it's not the losing upsets you with these games. It's the utter lack of effort and the fact the players don't seem to care! They might have forgotten about it when they get up in the morning but us the fans f**king haven't! Or all the p*ss taking we got from the Swindon fans last night! Maybe if that's how they feel, they should give up their wage that week to cover the cost of the game next year and the oppositions cut, so we can have free entry!!
I tried following Clint Hill philosophy...and now I can't remember whether I went to the match or not
Appalled by the play, but strangely quite pleased we are out of the competition. It's a long and arduous season in any event, we have insufficient depth in the squad and don't need a Mackie-esq injury chasing a worthless cup. Sad for the fans who attended nonetheless.
