Sounds familiar? New low: Rock bottom QPR crash out of FA Cup to League One side MK Dons 26 Jan 2013 Redknapp's men can at least now concentrate on the league... âWhat a load of rubbish!â chanted the Rangers fans, some of whom decided to leave after the fourth goal. Those who stayed cheered derisively when Redknapp finally used one of the six first-teamers on the bench â Bobby Zamora â after 67 minutes. âI thought in the first half we played well,â said Redknapp, who saw Jay Bothroyd and Fabio Da Silva score late *consolation goals. âWe gave away two *diabolical goals. Terrible, sloppy *defending and suddenly you find yourself 2-0 down. âWe came back in the second half and I thought we would still go on to win the game. âThe third goal is offside, but that is not an excuse. The fourth was another sloppy goal and you canât give goals away like that and win matches. âThe first two goals gave us a mountain to climb. It was diabolical defending.â
Was there too but too late back to post. Thought it was a frustrating evening. From 65 minutes we dominated but just couldn't equalise. Simpson was excellent. SWP put in another shift. Faulin was sadly off the pace at times. AJ looks up for every match. Albeit sub.
As to 'throwing the game', I am more inclined to think this was Harry's message to the Board that we are light in some positions and need more players added. What are people's views of the penalty shouts? I was in R Block row C so got a good view of SWP's shout. Looked absolute stonewall from my view. Can't find it on the net yet.
He throws a game to send a message to the board? I ****ing hope not. He has a voice and some kind of reputation doesn't he? Though he does not use it so much on QPR at the moment, Bond doing after match press as Harold is on crutches (including when we win to be fair). However, its good to know Harold can still drag himself to the BT and MOTD2 studios to talk about Spurs. I don't think Harold threw the game. I think his last words were 'whatever you do, don't get sent off or injured' as they trooped out'. Everybody knows we have a very small squad at the moment, if we don't add with buys and more likely loans we will be playing half the development team by November. We will add over the next week and beyond into the 'emergency' loan window. But at last we are being fussy. H has a particular kind of player he wants, and the board have tightened up on contracts. Not surprised Traore wasn't risked last night. We must be hoping for a good 20, 25 minutes from him before he limps off, contemplating the clouds, at Leeds.
Even if the player got the ball, it's irrelevant. He tackled SWP from behind so it's a pen! I was in line with Yun when he went down. It looked like he was caught, but the way he went down was always going to look like a dive, he played for it.......
My apologies Soopermack. I didn't mean that you or your post didn't make sense. I meant the team, the ethos and the tactics. The whole of the midfield was incorrect.
Disappointing result. Hill has concerned me. His passing, at times, has been shocking by his standards and gifted attacking opportunities to opposition. It won't be long before other teams target him every week at full back. Our midfield is way too light, we miss JB and Henry and have no back up - worrying with a season ahead of us. We need another striker, BZ is seriously struggling. So all in all - we have a problem right through the spine of the team! Needs sorting Harry - or our good start will seriously stumble by Oct/Nov.
I saw it differently. He went down like a sack of potatoes with his legs taken from under him. I did not think it was a dive nor did I think he over played it. I accept I may have seen what I wanted to of course.
The difference between Saturday and Tuesday ..... Saturday: O’Neil, Barton, Henry, SWP Tuesday: Diakite, Jenas, Faurlin, SWP Their job is to link forwards and backline - support backline when defending and support forwards when attacking. Only SWP did this properly last night.
Poor SWP. I really thought he was going to score to be the hero last night. As for that lung busting run to the corner to cut out that threat, it was amazing. I admire his work rate, I just wish it was that bit more effective.
I think last night confirmed that Faurlin needs a run of games to get back up to speed. I've never rated him personally and he'll always be far too slow, but we'll need him this season in some crucial games. Badly missed Barton last night, easily the first name on the teamsheet at the moment. Real shame to see Onouha play as poorly as that as well. Agree with many others here though, I'd rather put the league ahead of the cup. Onwards!
My apologies to you also then! None of the team made sense really! If you're resting players to save them from injury, then why bring aj on and have Austin play at all? They're the only 2 strikers we have! Dunne needs match practice and fitness so he should have played instead of hill. Ehmer should have been playing instead of Simpson or onouha, he can cover RB or CB. If you're not going to play the full 1st team in games like this then don't risk any of them, and tell the fans before the game! Diakite right wing ffs?! Explain that one to me, anyone?
I didn't say it wasn't a pen, but can sort of understand the refs reaction, he was poorly placed to see it properly imo. But there were no excuses for the SWP one....
I might be crazy, but all night I kept thinking, are we missing a trick with SWP! He was the best left back I've seen this season! His tracking of players, tackling and bring the ball away from danger was great. He might only be 4 foot tall but whenever he challenged for a header, the Swindon players had to work to win it. He doesn't have the out and out attacking prowess of a winger but could be a good full back.....
Last night's performance was just like most of last year's: we underestimated the opposition (or overestimated ourselves), and tried to play through them at far too casual a pace, rather than being direct. The midfield was generally anonymous (with Faurlin's worst ever performance), apart from "works hard but falls over a lot" SWP. Neither of our central defenders are playmakers, and nobody in the team played with any urgency until about 30 minutes to go. Swindon wanted it and worked hard for what they ultimately deserved. I have no problem with defeats if we make a good account of ourselves, but last night we didn't.
You are not crazy. He works bloody hard and does not get the credit he often deserves. It's just such a shame he did not score from that one on one.
