Because they shouldn't be charging us this high in THE FIRST ****ING PLACE, **** ME! Many fans complain about the high prices on the ground, but aren't buying.

****, do I have to buy a flat in central London in order to complain about the high prices for buying a flat in central London?

So you in your life NEVER complained about high prices if you weren't buying the thing in question?

Strip joint, totally different to a football ground, and heck, at least I get something in return at the club!

And yes, I may sometimes spend some cash at the club, but at least I ain't coming with this elitist mentality of OH IT'S ONLY 50P AND I WIPE MY ASS WITH 20 POUNDS. If I spend money at the club I do it myself, I didn't force other people to spend it, and again it's a strip joint you know you're going to get ripped off in there. Now you'll say but nobody forces fans to buy this and that, yeah, but they know fans are going to buy it anyways, and so they should have some decency for those fans, they know fans are already spending so much money, so why not cut them a break, instead of raising more prices? It's a football club, it's the people's club, and so the club needs to be aware of that, totally different scenario to a strip club on the night out.

And also from another angle, which I've already mentioned, for all the money we pay, for all the price increases, THERE HAS BEEN NO ****ING RETURN, where's the trophies? Where's the success? With the money we pay, that's the return we deserve.

So it's from 2 angles I'm coming from:

1: People are already spending so much money for the club, and they're spending so much money on other things in life, give them a ****ing break, no need to increase prices on them and take more money from their pockets when their sacrificing a lot as it is.

2: We're spending all this money, and getting nothing in return as fans, no success, no trophies, but the ones who do benefit are the board, with Gazidis getting over 600k in ****ing bonus, if you don't see the problem in that, then yeah I don't know what to say.

Well that's it then, I mean it is obvious that the club can't guarantee success, so time to cut ticket prices and not try to win. Seems like you've solved it!

You have a point Arsenal87 but the best sort of protest is not buying it, simple. I don't go for all that merchandise crap. The club is rich, the players are rich and the last thing is for us to line their pockets further (well they do as they are greedy). I wish people were more aware and SOCIALIST and not get into all this capitalist, materialistic rubbish. Paying players £65k a week is horrifying enough in this crazy world than having to buy a pointless programme for £3.50.

Wahh I'm a true arsenal fan and you're all plebs for not going to the ,arches, you don't know the financial pain I have to go through to watch a game.
**** off, if all the stories of your earnings are true, it must be a drop in the ocean for you (even the tickets) to complain about the 50p raise is just churlish and looking for something to whinge about. Furthermore, a bloke that earns far less than you, but still buys the shirt and maybe attends the odd one or two matches may spend mroew as a percentage of his earnings than you, does he not also counts as an arsenal fan?
Or what about the man with a family, who decides that his money can be better spent than on a football match, maybe going towards the moetgfage or hso kids education? Is he also not a fan for not going to matches and feeling the dreaded 50p pain?
Also, the point about gazidis is moronic, he has overseen millions worth of commercial deals been brought in (albeit a bit late), and therefore has done his job well, and is deserving of his bonus.

Agreed, It's all relative really. It's not just about the 50p, it's the accumilation of costs. If you add a 20p here and a 50p here for shopping, it all adds up doesn't it? If you factor that travelling, taxes are rising but wages are remaining stagnant, it becomes a very big deal. I'm not a greedy person and i'm happy for what I have. But my family comes first and then football. If I can afford to go to a game, I will. At the end of the day this is a luxury and not life or death. Paying for your food on the table or paying your rent is.

Including travel and what I end up drinking/eating it costs me about £100 to go to a game and I don't even live that far out of London

I rarely go to games, as I can't afford to, and when I do go, I don't buy food or drink in the Stadium as it's too expensive. I would shell for a programme but the higher the price the less likely I'll buy one.

The whole football experience is ridiculously expensive now, but it is supply & demand. As long as people pay the prices they will continue to rise.

Personally, I'd rather my money went to the club than up the nose of some strip joint slapper, but if you're really that upset by the price of burgers at the Emirates, then just round down the road on the corner of Avnell Rd and Gillespie Rd is the Golden Fish Bar, where you can get a burger and chips for £2 <ok>

The way I see it, there are ways and means. If you go to the game, the one expense you can't avoid is the ticket, but if you're savvy about it then the majority of games are cat B so you can get a ticket for £35. The rest as I see it is up to you. You can go mad in the armoury and the stadium and buy shirts, hats, scarves, food and drink etc and spend a fortune. Or if you're a skinflint like me you can avoid all of that and go to the old haunts and get cheap food and drink.

That said, the last couple of games I went to I had to buy a plane ticket to travel to the Emirates <whistle>

Where to start with this thread....

    1) If you don't like the price of food, don't buy it. What kind of ****** spends £8 on food and then moans about it? Firstly it is LONDON, where everything, especially food is expensive. If you want to buy decent food it costs money. I've done some work at food festivals recently (outside london even) and a sandwhich was selling for £7 - you would have had a heart attack i'd imagine! There are cheaper options for food if you want to buy cheaper food - just read Pisikie's reply for a close alternative. Honestly, it's a personal choice how much people are willing to spend on food, at events food is ALWAYS expensive and you have the choice to buy it or not, there will always be another option. You could just bring sandwhiches with you?

    2) Gazidis and the board are paid good wages. I agree. But financially, structurally, fanbase-wise etc they have grown the club very well over the last decade. It hasn't yet translated to success on the pitch but they have actually done a very good job getting the club to where it is off the pitch. They are also the guys at the top of a company who pay a large amount of its employees several million pounds a year (players) and so it is not highly suprising that they take a decent wage. The difference in them taking those high wages is not significant enough to be getting up in arms about considering how the club has progressed. Remember whether you like it or not, the club is a business.

    3) A price increase of 50p on a programme shouldn't be the end of the world. It does cost a LOT to watch Arsenal, but that extra 50p shouldn't ruin your experience. If you're not happy with the price increase - don't buy a match day programme anymore. If you still really want the programme then figure out a way to cut 50p spending from your normal life so as to make up that extra 50p. Maybe one less drink at the strip club? Going for a bacon and egg sandwhich at tesco rather than the all daybreakfast sandwhich which includes sausage for 50p more?

    4) Stop assuming your the only real fan because you can afford to attend games regularly. Just because another fan doesn't have the same disposable income available for use on football doesn't mean they aren't real fans or that somehow what you think is far more important. I haven't been able to afford to make it to a game in years now but i pay extra for tv channels to make sure i can watch every game. I still feel the same excitement when we win or dissapointment when we lose. It would be silly to assume that only the fans who make it to the stadium regularly are real fans with opinions that mater. In-fact it makes you look like a right peanut.

You still get a lot of that in football, but not so much on this board

It all depends on your level of membership. If you are silver then you should have no problem getting a ticket for less than £40
