Good, good player. Why would Everton want to sell him?

Good player, but the one to solve our striker problems? I doubt it. Save the money and get someone who has a proven goal-scoring record.

I would give Blackburn Fryatt Mclean Stewart and Cairney plus a few million for Rhodes.

    Seriously.

He looked quality when he got a run at the end of last season. Almost unplayable at times.

We've got Sagbo (back in 2 games) to do what Anichebe can do. What we need is a nippy little **** that can pinch, poach, get in the right places and finish well.

Defoe is perfect, out of buy range but maybe in loan range if Spurs carry on signing and we offer to release £30k of his wages. And like Hudd, getting regular starts would appeal.

Pipe dream? We might have said that about Hudd and Livermore.

We can't loan any more players from the Prem.

Right, should have remembered that before launching that little rant.

Someone just like Defoe then, who we can loan.

I hate to say it, but we need someone like Fraizer Campbell who is quick, tenacious and can finish.

Sagbo and Anichebe are similar but Saggy and Aluko are not gonna be available all season so victor is better than anything else left for upfront!

Honestly, the only bloke who comes to mind is Sharp, but he isn't good enough...

I think we are either going to look abroad again or go for someone like Rhodes.

Just a thought - what about Steven Fletcher? Will he be in Di Canio's plans when he returns?

EDIT: Scratch that one, they paid £12m for him. No chance we'll pay half that.

I quite like him but you have to wonder why so many Everton fans think he's terrible?

Personally I want Rhodes, but I fear Rovers will want us to break our transfer record again.

I think if we go for Rhodes it will be in January. Lets hope Tom Cairney proves a big success with them.

Difficult to assess Anichebe because he's never had a consistent run in the Everton squad. With his record I don't think he's worth more than a couple of mill.

January would probably the right time, as we will truly know then whether we should splash the cash on him.

Anichebe got a decent run last season and put in some really good performances.

Would definitely, definitely take this, then IMO the team would be complete for the season (although I am happy with it already). But at the same time don't want to get too greedy.

Just a thought is the ACOFN this year cause If we signed Anichebe and if they all were called up we would lose Sagbo, Aluko and Anichebe, highly unlikely but still.

He's 'temporarily' pulled out of playing for his country to focus on his club career.

Also Ivory Coast haven't qualified, so Sagbo is in the clear.
