The draw for the third round is tomorrow after the rest of this rounds' matches. We haven't got past the third round since 77/78.
There are huge queues forming at Hull City Tigers shirt shops all across the middle east; the replicas will sell by the dozen after that emphatic victory over Leyton Orient. Perhaps LO should play on their Orient links, ffs, they'll be massive!
Who do we actually want though? I mean we don't need a PL team anymore and we probably wouldn't beat good championship sides so not sure what we're after.
Sounded a ****e game, but at least Brady came on and showed a bit of quality, really well crafted and taken goal. I like SB comment afterwards that he should have brought him on 20 minutes earlier and we could have got to bed earlier. Pity Frayatt, Prossy didn't take their chance to impress, but maybe the service wasn't good enough.
It was indeed a ****e midfield and I wouldnt expect much service from McLean or Stewart in his current state of mind. I have no idea why we play Boyd in centre mid, he was absent for pretty much the entire match.
Is it in it or on it, the Orient, that is? Whichever it is, the O's (once the Eagles) have much name appeal to the Asian market; success is irrelevant, after all!
Get the feeling your tongue was in your cheek with that one! Strange how a decent larker with an instinctive eye for goal created his own chance; it is being described (media) as if he tapped in another player's effort and that is far from the truth.
Picture of Danny Graham at Brisbane Road looking pissed off that Di Canio wouldn't let him play..http://www.thisishullandeastriding....tory-19713505-detail/story.html#axzz2dAP1zeor
What can one say about last night. A few good pints in the O's club house and a nice curry after the game. Oh yes the game. What game. Utter dross apart from Brady boys finish. Any wonder this coc/league cup comp is in a coma. The only good thing is we got through to round 3 and maybe a half decent draw. TWS @ home anyone ? As for the team and all the expected changes. Well done to SB on that one though he had far too many first teamers on the bench for me but hey ho. Harper was cool and had little to do. The new back 4 were never going to be breached and Macca and Bruce stod out. Meyler was tidy and played well within himself and the best bits were the performances off the bench of Townsend - Jahraldo-Martin and Brady(4 touches = 1 goal lol) of course. The rest were way off the pace. Fryatt should have won the game for City in normal time but shlowed his rustyness and Mclean looked alot beter once he went up front. Felt sorry for big Nick as he had no service at all. He defended well like. Even the match programme was down graded from its normal self(i saw the crewe one from saturday btw) but at least we won and hearing what had gone on with Palace(lmao), Fulham, Sunderland, Liverpool, Bolton, Reading(hit for 6) put our effort into context. Round 3 now awaits. TWS @ home please but anything more than 2 hours away and i shall give it a miss. The draw i think is being made after the sky live game tonight. Morecambe v. Newcastle. Utd It will take a Wise man to dismiss Morecambe in this game. If the Toon lose it will bring me sunshine and a smile.
To be honest, we got through and that's what matters. The only downside is that it doesn't look like many of our second string are good enough for the PL. To allow League 1 opponents more than 10 shots on goal isn't very good. Neither is having one shot ourselves. I'm hoping those that were there would be able to tell me that we weren't the second best side on the night, but I'm not sure they'd be able to. I'd like Walsall to beat Stoke tonight so we can get them at home. Failing that, if Accrington pull off a shock, I wouldn't mind another trip there; it's always a good atmosphere at the Crown Ground.
