    Should please a few..

    Tyne and Wear or Durham and some other county?

    ..................


    get rid of tyne & wear and return traditional borders to durham and northumberland

    Responsible department: Department for Communities and Local Government

    please can you abolish the metropolitan county of Tyne & Wear and return the areas effected back to County Durham and Northumberland. there is no economical reason to maintain the current regional geographical demarcation. Since created in 1974 it has done nothing but generate confusion to the demographic and identity of our people and heritage.

    Thought it ceased to exist in 1986? The Post office only use it as a reference but all councils are now unitary authorities.

    We have three footy teams: SAFC, Darlo and the Pools.

    Northumberland only has one: Blyth Spartans :)

    When I lived back home (Peterlee ) I always wanted Sunderland to be in Co Durham so I could feel closer to my beloved team .:emoticon-0152-heart .Can`t rember when the boundaries changed though .

    My birth certificate says Sunderland, Co Durham and that's where my heart lies.

    Tyne and Wear was only ever set up to serve the interests of Tyneside - and Wearside's had next to fcuk all of any value from it.

    When I send any post home I always write tyne and WEAR
