Wonder how Cardiff will get on against Man City tomorrow. Should be our best team playing next week and just give it a go you never know what can happen.

They are probably going to play their second string side, because 'let's face it, it will be a damage limitation exercise regardless AND some of the second team need a run-out to show Mackay what they are capable of....'

Completely agree. Man City...win or lose...is the kind of game we need to have our best players out there and we will be no pushovers like Newcastle were. Plus few if any of them will have played against Orient on Tuesday and should be well rested. Go for it!!

No-one else on this thread needed hindsight - without exception they thought it worth going for it. I still think so, even though we are likely to suffer some backlash from Monday's result. The only damage limitation that matters is to our goal difference.

In any case, how would you feel if, having worked hard to get out of the Championship, or transferred into an unfashionable team, in order to measure yourself against the best, if the boss said you aren't playing 'cos you're not good enough? How motivated would you be the rest of the season? <steam>

So your definition of damaged limitation is sticking Jakupovic in goal against Aguero, Silva and Fernandinhio

And Cardiffs performance against Man City was no better than ours against Norwich!

How ridiculous. If Chelsea couldn't hammer us then neither will City. We've proven 2nd half a Chelsea and in the Norwich game that we are a very capable and organised side. Not to mention the fact that Cardiff managed to beat City. I expect we'll lose, but I'd rather we only let 1 or 2 in then fielding a weakened side and getting slaughtered. Though I think we should be going into the match thinking we can get something from it, no point having a losing mentality.
