Shame rated the lad highly , still £1.5 m is bloody good money (after add ons ) and he was always going to find it hard to get game time at the Vic ! Good deal all round and we have first refusal in the future as well . I`m a little sad but good business is good business .

Rated him highly when he only made a few appearances for us and spent last season playing for League 2 Southend??? Not denying that he had/has potential but rated highly? The best players in the Championship are rated highly.

He looked a good signing for us today :D

So glad he scored .... relieve the pressure for him with that price tag

I still find it hard to believe the Watford management could not see how good Britt is - He has pace, power, skill and intelligence,
a return of 4 goals from 4 League games is excellent, long may it continue. That £1.5 million may yet prove to be a bargain for the Posh.

    Watford's loss is Posh's gain

Well if reports are to be believed we were very reluctant to let him go, hence the buy back clause and the high price. I think we recognised his telent, but he is still unproven at championship level.

I think he probably would have wanted to leave us due to a lack of first team opportunities.

I'd say we reached a good amicable compromise. He was too good to languish in reserves but not yet good enough to challenge for week in week out role at the front in what is a hard push for promotion. Selling when we did with the sell on and buy back clauses isn't far from owning his contract still yet Britt is out there getting first team experience at no cost or risk to us. Seems pretty smart business to me.

Such is the Pozzo model that amount of money offered was too good to turn down and as Mitch said he probably wanted to go.

Thanks for the replies, the way Britt is playing I have every confidence he will be firing Posh back into the Championship for
next season. A year with us at that level should see him ready to rejoin Watford during their assault on the Premiership as well
as making a handsome profit for Posh ;)

Britt is just banging em in for fun, what a massive mistake to let him go. How much will he be worth now at the end of this season, far more than what we sold him for. Lets just hope that Zola has learnt from this and keeps hold of Sean Murray!

Banging them in against $hite league 1 defenders doesn't necessarily mean he would be good in the Championship.

Maybe he's found his natural level? Don't know but we do have first refusal to sign him back so if he does continue in the same vein then he'll be back if needed (and if the price is right of course).

A bit early to be saying 'massive mistake' IMO. He may well continue with this rich vein of form or he may repeat his time at Southend, where he started in similar fashion and fizzed out after a while. Either way, it's not Zola who has to learn from this - he isn't in charge of buying/selling players. But, when all is said and done, we have to be making attempts to adhere to FFP rules by balancing the books, and what Posh reportedly paid for him was just too good to refuse for a player that far down the pecking order.
