When did we last have one of these? I can't really remember one in pretty much all of my time watching the lads.

The only one I can remember was Alex Rae and even he wasn't normally a starter. I know weve got Gardner at the moment but I would class him more of a full back and most of his goals come from the spot. Hutchinson could play there but he played on the right for us. Look at the crop from the last 5 or so years. Catts hasnt scored, alfie nevwr scored, vaughan scored a couple a season and since Larson moved there he has scored once. Gardners got a few but as above he is a full back for me. Colback has scored one and before him whitehead very rarely scored.

As a team who dont score mant this department in the side is critical. If you look through most teams in the prem they have a centre mid who chips in with 8-10 a season. If ive missed anybody out in recent history please correct me but our stats in this department are pretty shocking.

Not bothered about one myself. We need to give the front 4 better service and the goals will flow from them. Connecting defence with attack is first priority imo.

If we could have Hutch or Schwarz now we'd be laughing (Schwarz scored less than a fat teeneager, but he didn't half open up the game).

I noticed with Southampton that Lallana, even when out wide, was always finding angles etc, Rosicky off Arsenal, is that possible?

I know he's not 'physical & English' but the team is ****ing huge as it is.

Rosicky would be quality, but wage demands will rule him out me thinks

We need a centre mid like a Wanyama, Fellaini, Fernandes, Huddlestone etc etc

Someone with power but who can pick a pass and assist a few goals and score a couple also.

Would love rosicky but as bri says will be on too much money. I cant really think of any current prem players who are realistic for us so think it will be a foreigner if we get someone. Anyone know what's happened with our bid for Michael Bradley?

Rosicky would not work in this team as we are already weak as piss. Maybe if him, Cabral and N'Diaye (if he wasn't foolishly shipped out) stayed it might work as part of a midfield three in a 4-3-3 formation

I'm not sure on Bradley, he's a wicked player, but I dunno if he's creative enough, he finds simple passes and sees them early, but he's not a playmaker, we need a playmaker to free up the wingers who could be immense.

I still like James Morrison but he's mainly a right mid, he can pick a pass tho, and gets goals.

45k plus bonuses maybe? He fit's the bill to a tee.

Imagine the difference he would make with Cabral doing the spade work, and him feeding AJ & Giacc.

He's textbook perfect, although, this is purely speculation on our part, sadly.

One of us needs to get on the scouting team.

I watched Benfica last night, and there was this lad Viana playing for Gil Vicente, he looked unreal, quick as ****, lush touch, first time passing and a goal.

This is the first I know of him like.

That would be you mate, you watch way way way way more football than me. Although I love the thought of scouting our next opponent.

Pecs for our scouting team. Repped in support. <ok>

We were linked with him earlier in the window

    http://www.rokerreport.com/2013/5/11/4321266/report-portuguese-winger-in-talks

Looks like we missed the boat and he went to Gil Vicente on a free instead. Shame, as we were surely the more appealing prospect, I guess we pulled out when DMK and Mavrias were scouted?

    Really? Missed that link.

He is so ****ing quick man, the goal may be on You Tube, he just absolutely screamed past the defender and lovely finish, he was getting behind them for fun, and this is Benfica, not a run of the mill Portuguese side.

Dunno if this really gives indication, but you can see his pick up speed on the goal.
