CLINT Hill has revealed plans to become a manager.

QPR’s player of the year (pic) is currently studying for his Uefa A licence that allows him the reins of a team in the Championship – but the defender intends to go higher.

The step up ‘pro’ licence is the one that sees any prospective boss at a top-flight club in Europe although he admits the time when he stalks a dugout rather than a pitch is a couple of years off at least.

“The last three or four years have been full pelt so I may get a year out to get a bit more experience on the coaching front,” he admitted.

“I’m not quite sure what role, but I’d like to have a little go just to see where I stand. It is something I am definitely looking forward to.”

The popular player also explained how work in the gym saw him make 23 appearances in the Premier League last term, and earn the 34-year-old a contract extension.

“I’ve been preparing for a few years to be honest with you, ever since my injuries back in my Stoke days,” he said.

“I decided to make an adjustment in the way I train and the strength I did as well.

“So for the last six or seven years I’ve been dedicating myself to the strength side of my legs and upper body to prepare myself for the physicality of the modern game.

“I’ve had in my plans for a few years now. It’s kept me in and around the team at the grand old age of 34, as long as you are in and around the first team that’s the main thing.”

The ideal professional and has continually adapted his game to suit his age. Sick and tired of people on here writing him off before each of our last three seasons (including in the last close season).
