Is back training with Pompey today - he has recently been training with Bournemouth. Is a new contract on the way for him?
Shore up the defence and get the forwards hitting the target were the main gripes after the Oxford and Accrington games, so here's another example of Corporal Punishment doing what needs doing
I believe he would be a good all round signing. I prefer him in midfield, he played well there end of last season, and scored with a lovely header against Sheff. Utd. But, he would be ideal to have as a back-up defender. Hope we sign him
For a small squad we have a pretty big midfield. N'Gala (sp?) is on a monthly contract - I wonder if that will be extended. Guy seems to be using funds from the youngsters going out on loan so maybe anyone we get, including Painter will just be short term contracts.
According to The News today, seems like GW wants to extend N'Gala's contract. Believe Painter is signed up til January?
In other news:- - Seems Jack Maloney has gone to Aldershot on loan. Whilst it's great he'll hopefully be getting some games, I was looking forward to seeing him getting a few sub appearances this season. Although with current squad of 20-ish, this seemed unlikely. - I've not seen it reported officially (think it was on the Express FM last night), but appears the council loan has now been repaid. Whilst not exactly exciting "news" and is exactly what we should be doing, hopefully those who doubted the intentions of how the club will be run can get back into their box (for a little while at least).
Just a very matter of fact statement, hopefully because this is now considered normal business practice! http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/news/article/pfc-statement-240813-1011476.aspx City Council loan has been repaid Portsmouth Football Club are pleased to confirm that the loan from Portsmouth City Council to enable the community bid to buy Fratton Park has been repaid with interest. We would like to thank Portsmouth City Council for their support.
Micah Hall confirmed that this was exactly the reason it wasn't 'announced' - but so many people were asking that they put the statement up on the O/S.
No news yet on Shaun Cooper's return to FP, BUT, Bondz N'Gala has signed a new contract until January 2014.
