I only caught the last 20 of the first half, were giving the ball away very cheaply and yes the refs a tool. We did get lucky that he never gave a pen fro JJS tackle.
We can take this Spurs outfit but we need more beef and tempo. Michu back into midfield. Bony on up front. Shelvey off - his head is just not up to this - doing himself no favors today.
Referee will want to make up for his mistake with the penalty.............. Michu looks frustrated - and having been booked in first half, must be a risk of getting a second with this ref - who has given us nothing, apart from missing the penalty!
We are doing awesome against the 12 players of Spurs !! What a complete cnut that ref is though, every single 50/50 goes to them and we are getting no protection when on the ball. Consider the absolute kicking they gave us over 2 games last season and its clear we not favoured against these sorts of teams. I honestly think that the longer you stay at this level the more things go against you, its almost like our story is now run,the romanace and headlines are now gone and its time we got our coats and left the premier league, that's how it feels to me judging by the first 30 mins. Im very proud of that display regardless of the result of this game. Laudrup and the players have proved to me they will be ok in this division so **** the ref and his bias judgements
I think Hernandez may go off...according to commentators he has been terrible. All though, i'm not sure how much to trust what they say. "He's not the player we thought he was" I get the feeling they have been spending most of their time watching Cardiff games.
Still in it but Spurs are dominating. When we get the ball we can't keep it. They are technically as good as us but stronger and faster. Have any of our lads ever done any weight training to muscle up? We look puny in comparison to their players and half a yard slower with it. Our passing game is too deliberate with too many balls arriving at feet the same time as a defender comes snapping in. We need to move it quicker and move bodies quicker into space to create options. Spurs players' aren't going to be waiting for us to take our own sweet time. OK, it's worked so far but I can't see us holding out for another 45 based on what I've seen. Perhaps Bony should be brought on to work their defenders and give Michu some more space. It will mean cutting out some of the passing but it isn't working so far. If we vary it and put it in the mixer for Bony to fight for we might get a break.
Shelvey can't find anyone with his passes. He is not Ki and shouldn't be played as far back, as he doesn't do what Ki does best. Shelvey further up to make use of his finishing, or Ki in to give us time on the ball and precise passes in the defensive mid.
