I dont think Aspas was a red herring and would have been be a brilliant signing for us. He is versatile up front can play forward, winger, no. 10. He will score plenty goals and assists for Liverpool just give him half a season to settle. But when that is said, Poz' does look like a similar player but for much less money which is great.
We're all actually quite impressed with him. 1 assist in the first game, lots of goals and good play preseason... some very clever touches yesterday. Will score soon, probably bag a modest 6-10 this year. Way better than Downing - and if we bring in a new winger he'll be great coming off the bench.
Aspas is a very average striker He would proberly do ok in some of the struggling clubs at the bottom of PL, but playing in Liverpool... sturridge and Suarez are just classes better.
we lost out because we were to slow off the mark with laudrup and jinx arguing about funds. It was more than likely that we would have lost out on him to a bigger club anyway, we shall never know now..
The 4-5 whole matchs I have seen him play in both Spain and Liverpool he is an average striker. I will be very surprised if he is gonna score 10 goals for Liverpool this season.
So no, you know little about him. He isn't even playing as a striker for us, and wasn't an 'out and out' striker for Celta either. 10 goals would be a great output from him. We want him for goals, yes, but mainly link up play and creativity - which he is doing very well with.
Which you have decided before September of his first season, after two games (one of which he assisted the only goal in). All conjecture pal.
