We have to use everything to persuade him to stay. The annoying thing about this is that if he suddenly left we'd have little time to replace him!

He was a free transfer, but there was a tribunal which meant we paid something like £4m

would/could stoke match his wages? and is this just lazy journalism like us being linked with every other spurs player? can't see anyone else coming in for him on last season's performances.

It's football and 7m is not bad for a player that didn't cut it for us in the prem. If the lad Phillips turns out to be as good as people are saying, we may not miss Hoilett if he does go

i'd rather MH bought some of his others players Diakete / M'Bia rather than one that seems to be enjoying playing for Arry

Harry mentioned Junior by name after match today...spoke about whenever possible playing 2 wide men....really sounded as though Junior is very high in his plans....
And as said earlier. Junior is not thick...he doesn't want another difficult relegation season, or hw will get a real "Jonah" name for himself.

And maybe he would like to stay with Maclarin too

Not sure if I'd be that disappointed if Hoilett left. Played well so far this season though, but £7m can't be sneezed at.

I'm not sure that the money is all that relevant. We lack creative players, he, so far, has looked better than most. More importantly, if we can play him and Phillips that keeps SWP out of the team.

Wouldn't disagree with that comment. I'm not sure to what degree our cloth needs to be cut!

This is Redknapp's to sort out. Hoilett looks to be enjoying life at the moment. He didn't when he played under Hughes. Yes everybody would prefer to be in the Prem if he could but I would fancy my chances of persuading Hoilett to wake up, smell the coffee and not make another huge mistake by joining up with Hughes again. He can't really afford the reputation of being in 3 consecutive teams that got relegated and surely won't be stupid enough to buy into another project. I doubt whether Stoke are going to be stupid enough to offer the sort of wages we did last season so he is not losing out financially at least this year.

Finally, I would play two key cards. Firstly, let's see where we are come May. It's only 9 months. If he doesn't succeed in getting us back up then he can go. Secondly, he owes us. Apparently he is religious and has a sense of morality. Let's appeal to his higher self rather than his inner "Mr Loadsa money".

I hope we dont have to sell him, but if we do we HAVE to replace him. We are still light on numbers for wingers.

All we have is 3 so letting him go would leave us very short again. I hope Phillips isnt a replacement as we needed another winger in addition to Hoilett and SWP

7m for hoilett doesn't sound bad business, it would give us the ability to bring in Townsend or similar as well...

If you want peace and solitude the Fulham board is the place to be. FT is obviously seeking out some interaction. Nothing wrong with that. Definitely not a WUM.
