I don't think our quality is bad although this season we'll have a lot of lightweights for the London games as the Chelsea game showed (fans sat there mute as Fat Frank took his pen) Numbers vary for all teams. Bear in mind Hull is not a wealthy city and is not served well at all by transport links.
Norwich fan here, was at the KC today. Just wanted to add my two pence. Our fans were terrible today, but it didn't surprise me one bit. Under Hughton our team has these sort of days - days when the 11 players we field don't seem fit to play for a pub side. From experience, us fans have learnt that no matter how much noise we make we're going to lose and lose embarrassingly when we're having one of these days. What you saw from us today was born of resignation - don't judge us solely by today, fellas. We're better than that. Credit to you lot. Quiet grounds are a constant feature of Premier League football, but you guys bucked the trend today. One of the noisiest sets of home support i've seen since we got promoted 3 years ago, and i've been an away season ticket holder all that time. Credit to your team too. You outplayed us for most of the game, and even with ten men looked more likely to score. Play like that every game and you'll have no problem staying up. Good luck for the rest of the season fellas. It's always good to see Brucey doing well.
respect about our home support but as my post earlier said, you guys usually have great away support, just one of those games! great city norwich!
Cheers mate, always thought of Norwich fans as being passionate so was slightly surprised today. On the subject of our support, it has been terrible the last few years but improved towards the end of last season and was incredible for the Cardiff game when we got promoted. It was pretty good today but it definitely helped that the team performed resolutely and with passion. In terms of MOTD it was pretty annoying that they did not show the brilliant work we did in defence as I'm sure they would have had a full segment if a bigger team survived for over an hour without conceding. They also refuse to show any of the brilliant passing which we can do at times. It seems that if something does not lead to a shot on goal it will never be shown. Good luck for the rest of the season, although I don't imagine Norwich will be too near the bottom closer to the end of the season and hopefully we will be up around mid-table as well.
Aye, Norwich is alright. Shame about the roads back to the bloody place though, especially after a performance like that! Our away support is usually pretty noisy, but we're getting worse. Long gone are the days of the free-flowing football we played under Lambert, and having a go at anyone, anywhere. Now we're more likely to pack the midfield and play for the point - and we generally fail at that. It takes it's toll.

You've got to be a Norwich fan to get that one. Ultimately it's down to negativity. Hughton is great at signing players and has undoubtedly brought some real quality to the club in the likes of Bassong, Snodgrass*, Turner, RvW etc. But he's one of the most negative managers i've ever seen in charge of City. Admittedly he's a bit unlucky as following on from Lambert was always going to be a huge task. Not only did we get consecutive promotions followed by PL survival but we did it playing brilliant attacking football. Hughton, as i said above, is more likely to pack the midfield and play for a point in any away game; he's tactically inept (starting 4 central midfielders and a winger in a 5 man midfield today for example, including 2 players out of position); and he's got an increasingly annoying tendency to spend every press conference telling the world how 'it's a privilege to be playing a team with the quality of Fulham (or whoever)'. What happened with Holt is symptomatic of the problems with Hughton: He achieved in a matter of weeks that which teams in 3 divisions, across 3 seasons, had failed to do - stopping Grant Holt scoring goals. It's just not a lot of fun watching Norwich play football these days. And that's a tough pill to swallow after the previous 3 years. * As an aside, why do you lot hate Snodgrass so much? I get the Dirty Leeds connection but Johnson and Howson escaped similar treatment. Just curious!
but i suppose in a way that's the sacrifice you make for premier league survival, you won't go down this year i am sure.. but obviously you're not going to be pushing for a top 8 place either

Aye, you're right. But on the other hand Lambert kept us up AND managed to get a team of nobodies playing entertaining football. The two aren't necessarily mutually exclusive, for all that Hughton, and some of our fans, seem to believe they are. Love the responses to the Snodgrass question! I get what you mean though - if he wasn't wearing a City shirt i'd probably loathe the guy too. I'll conveniently ignore that though, as long as he keeps performing! That said, Figueroa did a great job on him today - but then you guys did a job on us all across the park. Right, i'm out of wine and ***s, so i'm off to bed. As i said, have a good season fellas!
true but honestly how long could you keep playing that football, you just don't have the team to push for a top 8 place, and you're basically in the limbo of premier league survival ie.. you won't go down but you won't push for a higher spot... as a city fan i'd love that.. but maybe after a couple of years we could feel your pain.. but unfortunately i just think it's the way the league is, you lack that extra quality to push on
