I can "berate" who I like, when actually what I said is that he "frustrates". I wasn't privvy to seeing all the chances from multiple angles. It's sometimes a bit harder to judge these missed chances when you actually go to football matches. Give it a try.
Berate = criticise angrily. You're welcome. And I can't believe I have to tell you, but you don't automatically win the argument by invoking the fact you were actually at the game.
Felt first half that Sunderland were by far the better time, not helped by the ****e ref and a linesman. Saints just lacked something, not sure what, but Sunderland sure as hell defended well. Jay Rodriguez's build up play is brilliant, but the boy just can't finish to save his life, really needs shooting practice. Felt substituting Adam Lallana when he did was the wrong idea, as he looked our brightest spark at the time. Rickie did not look like an England international I'm afraid ... an off day for the big man. JWP ... what a talent this young lad is. And despite the twat next to me (See the JWP thread), I can't find a single person who doesn't realise this talent. A special note for Calum Chambers, he looked steady, calm and composed and has a bright future ahead of him. Lovren-Fonte partnership is looking good, and I think should be our first choice CB pairing. On one final note; Champions League here we come
Sorry to say guys and gals predicted this type of game......and sadly the result. There is no doubt in my mind we should have won it comfortably. The ref did not have a good game and was very naive. That said we do not appear to have learned the lesson from last year. How to break teams down that park a couple of buses and show very little going forward. In my mind we did not move the ball fast enough and because we were so slow in the build ups they often could predict the crunch balls. In the second half we played better and quicker which put them under severe pressure at times. Couldn't see the first half shout for a penalty certainly the one in the second half looked a good shout. Was very surprised that neither of the officials signalled for it. Osvaldo was a bit unlucky with his booking but lucky that he didn't get a second for the challenge he made a few minutes later.
Guly, mostly. He was totally invisible out there, cannot remember a moment where he influenced the game positively, though I'm pretty sure that he was supposed to be marking their goal-scorer.
Noted, i will go make a banner for the next game, i presume Fox was invisible too, should i make one for him too?
I think we should all just focus our anger on the ref and remember that we would have won the game if it weren't for that fat bald prick
Another thing that should be remembered is that we went until the 17th November last season before we went unbeaten in 2 consecutive PL games.
Just got home from watching the game in Dubai. The sum it up: free kick to Sunderland at the end of the game; the wall consisted of the most expensive players is Saints history: Osvaldo, Gaston, Ray R and Wanyama... so gutted... Osvaldo showed good touch and commitment, not alot else, Gaston is showing as a total waste of £12.5M, Ray R has little composure in front of goal and Wanyama could not pass the ball unless it was 10' sideways. Add into the mix that Lallana has gone backwards over the past two seasons (little flashes in the 2nd half)... Sunderland showed today why they (and Fulham) are relegation candidates - we show have murdered them today... I also thought Ricky looked so nervous - the signing of Osvaldo maybe?? We had no imagination in the final third... must do better
Dejan Lovren on Twitter: "I'm sad that we could not win today I think we deserved more than a draw. thanks fans on your support. #SaintsFC COYR"
The ref was a disgrace today. We should have had arguably 3 or 4 penalties. 2 of them were stonewall penalties. The goal was onside. ****ing joke basically.
I didn't think Mason was good but I have no idea where you are getting 4 penalties from. The goal was also offside.
