Take a bow. Great little player. Efficient, aware and creative too. Played well out wide and in the centre. Good sharp passing, good awareness of what is going on and always looked to go forward after being told to do so by Mauricio. He's making himself hard to ignore and is banging the drum for more appearances. Very impressive talent.

He's going to go far. Glad he's tied down too. Promising times.

The important thing is we've finally found a player who can cross a bloody ball! :1980_boogie_down:

All the Sky commentators were creaming themself over Barkley. Prowse is equally as good if not better.

Anyone with half a brain knows how talented he is. <ok>

I'd also like to add on he's got a fantastic dead ball delivery, something we've needed for a while now.

And swing a dead ball into a dangerous spot, for that matter.

If teams keep putting everyone in the box, he'll be an asset now that we have two giant strikers to aim at.

Barkley's more "Rooney-esque" in that he is powerful, good at dribbling and has a heck of a shot on him, more of an eye-catching player, so I can understand why he gets the attention.

JWP looked good last week and even better today. He was our main creative force in the first half and looked good making the play from deeper as well. If he continues to improve he'll be some player. I'd almost go as far as to say he's already better than Lallana, but I'd have to see a bit more of both of them at this level to really be sure about that.

JWP can play out wide or in the centre, which is a great attribute to have. He is like Milner in the way that he will happily cover the bombing-on fullback and does his work in a neat fashion. His passing is superb and his delivery from a deep free-kick, out wide or from a corner is outstanding for an 18-year-old. He's about a week older than me, so expect to see me soon as I'm only a week behind in progress.

Even Rabbitspectrum managed to give him some credit today - things are certainly looking up!

JWP looks like a pretty close clone of Schneiderlin, but better off the dead ball and with crosses and aerial deliveries while Schneiderlin offers better defense. Schneiderlin was a bit off today, but theoretically both are good at transitioning from defense to offense, and spreading the ball around.

I still think we will need Ramirez (or someone else) at attacking mid who can beat some defenders and do the fancy stuff.

JWP did his job pretty well today......One of the best games he has played in my view.....Probably man of the match.

JWP was very good but I like to throw out how good Chambers was today! thought he was great at the back and offered a lot going forward.

Well we'd not have thought in the past couple of season a manager could take Morgan off and we'd not miss him.

    James and Victor were cracking.

Easily JWP was MoM today. Gaston showed what he can do & needs to start now.

I was very impressed. He's come from no where really and doesn't look out of place. Bit nervous about coming forward and his teammates could have trusted him a bit more by playing the ball to him when he was open. He did nothing wrong all game as far as I can remember.

Surely not? I thought he was just ok and has no vision and can only pass sideways or over 5 yards and will not be good enough for Saints.

Showed he is much better in the middle of the park and has the vision to play in the forwards a lot more.
With Big Vic & Morgan we just seemed to go from side to side

A lot of people haven't known what to make of JWP. He seemed to fall out of favour early last season...we all forget how young he is. It soon became apparent how keen Mauricio is on him...must be a relief to find someone who can deliver the ball. He can only get better with a manager who believes in him and with talented players around him.

Had a right, moany **** next to me today ..... the guy wouldn't say a word, except for slagging off Ward-Prowse ALL game. A few notable quotes:

    ****ing lazy prick
Move Ward-Prowse, actually use the ball
Can't you cross for ****s sake, stop passing it backwards
Far too ****ing lightweight, should be in the Reserves

I came to the conclusion the guy was a **** and he didn't know what he was talking about.

He is also totally unlike Milner in that he is creative, can dribble and is not scared to take people on.

Did he take all our corners today?
