Surprised this hasn't already been posted, but barring what might or might not happen in future we are currently confronted with two choices so let's see the numbers:

    1. Who will only accept 'Hull City AFC' ?

    2. Who will accept 'Hull City Tigers' ?

Who will only accept.....then what? Write angry emails? Swap to supporting Ferriby? Start watching FC or KR?

I understand what you're trying to say Craigy but honestly, apart from 1 or 2 plastics, the majority would still support the team if we got changed to just "The Tigers". They'd not be happy, and would still use "City" or "Hull City" etc but you get the picture.

Rethink the questions so there's no room for ambiguity and for people to change what you're asking into their own agendas.

A pointless vote, nobody is going to stop supporting City because of this stupid name change, they might stop buying stuff with the name on, but that's it.

The aim is simply to stop this from happening in the first place, by showing Assem how unpopular it is, he already knows the reasons given for a change are complete bollocks, he needs to see how strong the feelings against it run with many.

He's used to getting his own way, however unreasonable his decisions are, but I don't think he wants to end up being unpopular. He was hurt by the reaction to the Barmby sacking, I can't see him being in a great hurry to repeat that with twice as many people upset.

How could anyone who decided to boycott their club because it's lost the identity be called a plastic. We get it you have an opinion but your pro argument is terrible.

I will be interested in the slow march turn-out today.

Obviously I will have to read about in in the HDM rather than witness it because I will be inside at the time eating my hot dog and watching the team warm-up.

If the Hull Daily Mail pic shows only a few hundred out of the 20,000 joining in, then it may put the strength of feeling (or lack of it) into perspective.

Sorry folks my internet connection cut out half way through posting the poll and strangely the first five replies were already visible by the time the poll appeared on mine (don't know how that happened).

There are 1,812 members of this board, how many do you think are not against the name change, 6, 7, 8, 9, possibly just into double figures? And that's still a higher percentage than you'll find on AN or CI.

The amount of people who join the march today will obviously not include everyone who is against the name change, it will include those who feel strongly enough and are willing and able to be at West Park gates at 2.30.

Anyone who thinks that the vast majority of fans are not against a name change is deluding themselves. On Twitter, Facebook, every City message board, every poll and any other measure you care to look at, the vast majority are against any name change, even our Managing Director is against it ffs.

OLM - Spot on, the problem is people have accepted it. Doesn't mean they didn't strongly disagree with it in the first place.

You continue to misunderstand the difference between those who are FOR the change, and those who are UNCONCERNED.

You then ask the UNCONCERNED why they are so bothered to comment on the argument.

The UNCONCERNED are CONCERNED about the fact that the MINORITY who are AGAINST this change disrespect and offend the ALLAMs to the extent that he decides to move on.

Plus... look on here.... you can't even get a convincing majority on the poll itself....

The previous poll on here had a 50%-50% split before it was taken down because the mods didn't like those statistics.

<laugh> You seriously think that those against this aren't in the majority?

No offence, but you're an idiot.

So you accept social blackmail as a way to conduct business and build a customer-focussed enterprise?

and you are deluded... and you've so little confidence in your turnout that you're already making excuses for the size of it before it even happens.

No... I let the owner do what they are charged to do, and make sure that they explore every business opportunity to bring in additional funds so that we can compete on an even playing field with the bottom 12 of this division.

Whether those opportunities turn into a reality is another matter but that is the owners perogative to decide which opportunities to follow.

To be fair, that was a mistake (one of a number) as it gives false support to your daft argument.

How many City fans do you actually talk to? I know you've only been on here five minutes, do you post on other City message boards or social network sites?

Judging by your comments, I'm assuming you don't.

On my Twitter feed, I'd say that 85% are absolutely against any change, the other 15% are either not that bothered, or think Assem has invested so much he should be able to do what he likes. 100% of them think the change will not bring any benefit to the club.

I agree that probably less than 5% of supporters are FOR the name change. No argument with that at all.
But that does not mean that the other 95% feel so strongly against the name-change (particularly the dropping of the AFC) that they would lose any sleep over it.

However clearly OLM realises that there will be not 18,000 fans at the West Park Gates at 2:30.... In fact, I would be amazed if it the 20% (4,000 of the match attendees) that I generously credit the opponents to be.

I really do not understand why this "name change" has caused such a rumpus.....being an old traditionalist I don't agree with it as it's my team......however surely people must recognise and applaud the Allams ambitions to sell the club overseas which is what this is all about.....they saved the club and we all look to them to run the place on some kind of commercial footing to avoid anymore Barlett/Duffman era stuff yet when they do so the place erupts........! If they'd changed it to Hull Pink Fairies then fair enough.....if Tiger beer or someone comes in waving a wedge of cash which allows us to buy better players who'll be complaining then.....?

There won't even be 4,000 people who know there's a march on, it was only announced on Twitter yesterday, you're really making yourself look ridiculous.
