Just seen this news by liverpool who are subsidising their fans tickets for away games. http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/143354-lfc-reduce-away-ticket-prices Mentions this in the text: The move follows a Premier League initiative, which sees each club allocate £200,000 to be used specifically to improve the away supporters' experience and maintain away attendances. So I wonder how Saints will use that money, if at all?
You don't think he used it to partly pay for the private jet to take Jim White & the select band of approved journalists to Austria and classify them as "fans" and it being an "away game"?
I thought they'd at least print off laminated song sheets. A piece of paper hasn't seen the words 'La-la' so much since they wrote up the script for the Teletubbies.
at 1.50 a booking fee, that's approx. 70k, so if 3.00 booking fee, 140k.... amazing that a figure as large as 200k sounds, doesn't go far. I'd be interested to know for sure what we've done with it.
So they are taking off the unjustifiable tax they put on in the first place? Cosmic. The first rule of running a top flight club, the most loyal supporters are the ones you can squeeze the most money out of. Bleed those suckers dry.
Actually, NC told me that is his second rule. His first rule is to bleed dry the miserable bastards who think you can do nothing right
I just got my tickets for Barnsley and was pleasantly surprised at the lack of booking fee. Still had to pay postage though, £2 for a first class stamp!
I won't pay the booking fee so I shuffle all the way down to St Mary's with the cash for the ticket in my hand.
Kids are away next week and so when the wife asked me what I wanted for my birthday (next week) I suggested she take me to the Barnsley game ... she hasn't actually replied to that yet, so I am not sure if she's gone off to book tickets as a surprise or not She asked me again this morning what I wanted for my birthday. I gave her a different answer .... Barnsley tickets might be an option now
According to this beeb arcticle, Saints have yet to make up their mind what they are doing with the £200k... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24446082
Well played the Man City players for putting their hands in their (ample) pockets to help out their away fans. PR stunt maybe, but at least they are doing something. Why have I got a horrible feeling that Saints will brush this under the carpet, or come up with some **** idea like discounted away tickets for ****ing students.
"Cardiff: The Bluebirds will subsidise 30 coaches for Norwich City (26 October), so fans only have to pay £5." Well, that's pretty ****. Stoke give free travel to every game, while Cardiff offer a discount for one.
