    Well done to him.

Deserved on recent performances and hopefully the Scots fans will give Anya a chance.

Good for him, quality footballer - should also help against the tossers going on about our foreign players. I hope he gets a better reception with the jocks than Don Cowie did

Why - what happened to Don?

Scotland probably need as many good players as they can get because of the size of their country does limit and Anya was born in Glasgow so its not as if they've got in a total outsider like the Irish used to do!

So long as Anya plays well and wants to be there then they should not worry.

What a turnaround for him. Shows just what good coaching can do.

Excellent news. Been bending the ear of my (Scottish) mate for months about Anya. Now I'll be asking 'what took so long?'

Shame this didn't happen a couple of weeks back as I would have liked to have seen him against England. I hope Strachan isn't thinking of playing him at RB in a back 4, hopefully he will play on the right wing (right side of midfield) If/when he plays that is.

Its fantastic for him. He thoroughly deserves the chance. He has blossomed as a player in the past 8 or so months.

Its just a shame there are SOME north of the border who focus more on a name than on ability.

I've been calling for this for a long time, but how he performs for them will depend on the system they play I think. He needs to have the freedom to bomb forward and scare the living daylights out of Macedonian defenders.

It was back in the day that the BBC was running football MB's - I went onto the Scotland one and he was being slated just because he played for Watford. I hope that Anya will not get the same, but I would not bet on it..

Guess we were pretty much middle table fodder then.

As I say though they can hardly pick and choose from a top quality selection of players at the highest level (nor can we to an exact even!)

After all one half of the big 2 in Scotland don't exist and their best players in the 2 Fletchers are injured.

Quite often its the ones who don't play for the big name teams who put in more of an effort for their national sides..

The other defenders are hardly proven international quality.

He's too good for Scotland! The style of football up here is so crude much more suited to bruisers like myself than anybody with an ounce of flair!

Really pleased for him but if they use him as a full back which is what seems to be suggested it will be a complete waste.
