I am surprised at the level of criticism aimed at Redknapp on here. Some are on his case at any possible opportunity. He steadied the ship when he first arrived at the club last season. How we disintegrated thereafter was a huge disappointment and we went down without a fight which was inexcusable. It is clear however that he had a major uphill battle with the group the players he had to deal with and a collective attitude which clearly stank. He is putting his own team together this season bringing in players with certain characteristics. Results so far have been positive so lets for the moment give the guy a break and our backing.

I certainly don't blame him for last year; and if we accept the first premise, he can only be judged on this year - so far so good!

We are a bitter set of fans these days, not without reason. Yet we should always be behind the manager and team when they're performing and trying to get us success. If they're not trying, then we can complain. Otherwise it's up to the board who goes and stays.

I am behing him as it's game on but I hold massive issues with him ... when the season is over or a change is made then we can slag .. but right at the minute we are QPR supporters and need to grow together ... Look at Arsenal if you need to look for anger without reason.

Harold will only grow as we win games ... that's all we are interested in anyway ... we are all fickle ... it's 2013

I'll get off his back if I'm allowed to hang from his jowls instead.

I agree, I wont blame him for last season, no matter how long he had in role he was left with a team who simply didnt give a damn. There is only so much he could have done with that lot.

Thankfully he has managed to ship 18 of them out the door, and replace them with the good hard working pros we all wanted.

My only problem as I said on the other thread is that he keeps opening his mouth before transfers are done. Other than that, things are looking very good.

He should have been prepared to take some of the blame for last year, but would not. He should not have been allowed to get away with the ridiculous assertion that the squad wasn't good enough. The clear-out was necessary and inevitable, and the strategy of bringing in the 'right sort' is reasonable and may well be successful. However, if we are not promoted, he will be gone, and if we are promoted, a further clear-out will be necessary. My preference would have been for him to go in the summer and for someone new to undertake the rebuilding process. I don't think that being critical of some of his signings or of his unnecessary media pronouncements is somehow being disloyal.

The 'fresh summer' idea was appealing at the end of last season, but that's well gone now, as you say.

Personally, I can't quite understand the anger/animosity/etc over HR's signings, any of them. The criticism and contempt was there prior to a ball even being kicked by any one of these signings - we should at least be prepared to give a player(s) a chance. Hill and Derry should have taught us that much.

Something tells me that he came out with that (he started saying it well before the end of the season) as a last ditch attempt to try and put some fire in the bellies of the shower of **** that played last season. It didn't work. I won't have a go at him for trying.

I do get fed with this board at times there is such petty sniping and little respect for a true footballing man as Redknapp, he is building a team that he wants and plays in the style that he has always tried to promote and rightly he has no time for shirkers, he needs support, some of the bods on this board sound like bitter Saints fans, come on smell the coffee!

I am not on his back in the slightest.

Is he perfect? Of course not. Will he be our manager in 5 yrs? Very unlikely. 3 yrs? Still pretty unlikely IMO. However, he is our manager now and, with a proper team along side him which we nearly have, he can get us back to the PL.

    First proper test this weekend.

I'm with Stroller and DT on this - have always had big issues with him, but he's our manager and has to get on with it, with our support. He will earn my respect by getting us promoted, my starting point with 'true football people', if he is an example of them, is cynicism. They are like an old style trade union, trying to maintain a cosy , back scratching, closed shop.

He gets paid more than any other manager in this league, and has said we are going for promotion. The metrics are clear, judgement at end of season.

    Why?

I'm surprised why we aren't on TF's and the board's back more often, actually. Thanks to their poor decisions we went down. We could have easily have stayed up if they hadn't sacked NW so soon.

Even if that were true - which I doubt - there is no excuse for him continuing to say it once we were relegated. He could not admit to his own failings.

Couldn't agree more. Whilst I can understand he's not everyone's favourite he should be given the chance to show what he can do with his team not with what he inherited last term & so far would say things are certainly more positive than last season.

Harry didn't go from being one of the top candidates for the England job to a rubbish manager overnight. He was always playing catch up last season, came in 3 games too late and even then I swear if Bosigwa's free-kick goes in at Villa and we lead 2 0 at ht then the season could have had a different outcome. He's doing a pretty good job so far this season, but such a long way to go. Not bothered about the rubbish he spouts about transfers, etc. far more entertaining listening to him than Hughes any day! Onwards and upwards, you Rsssssssssss

I have yet to be convinced by Redknapp but was was considering a thread congratulating him on shifting out some of the "unshiftables". As to what is his work and what is Beard's we will probably never know, so let's give them both the credit.

His signings of Austin, Simpson and ONeil are to be applauded, as is his back tracking on Faurlin. I'm not quite ready for a chorus of "Harry Redknapp's blue and white army", but I'm less inclined to dismiss him out of hand.

Agree, that Villa game was the same as the Liverpool home game the season before. The turning point. We battered them in that first half and should have led at least 3-0!

Why get on TF's back. He has backed his managers financially and is rebuilding the club. Beats the days when the club could not afford to repair the photocopier ( quote from John Gregory). Made some poor decisions but the best owner we have had since Mr Gregory. I also don't think Warnock would have been able to attract the quality of player we need long term. Just a daft comment
