Okay, it's from Goring Crook, but seems to have come from Mauricio - Osvaldo and Rickie to play together - http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...ed-pablo-osvaldo-2208501#.UhaIUjdV5sw.twitter
Lambert & Osvaldo Have The Complimentary Skills To Form A Lethal Partnership At Southampton: http://squawka.com/news/2013/08/22/...ls-to-form-a-lethal-partnership/2013082218410
I think I'm right in saying that this was also brought up in today's media conference. Either that or Adam Blackmore asked the question, under Solent's exclusive one-on-one.
Poch said he was fit enough to play from the start. It was more to do with him fitting into our style quickly enough than anything else.
If he doesn't start, he will be on the bench, so both he and the fans can have a taster. Nice video of Dani at the bottom of the Mirror article...nice when the scissor kick comes off. He tried it whilst playing with Mauricio and nearly took out a couple of staff walking along the footpath. On Player, Mauricio said that Lambert and Osvaldo were not that similar as players and could complement each other, but, also added, that the situation would be monitored.
P.s. Can you imagine as defenders having to decide whether to mark Rickie or Dani....choices, choices.
If they do play together and as Poch says, "compliment each other" they're going to be a real handful for most defences this year. Can't wait to see it... COYR.
It's nice to know that if we are ever trailing and desperate for a goal, we can revert to 4-4-2 and have a strong midfield with a potentially potent strike pairing!
Can nobody else see us playing this? With Ramirez/Rodriguez having a fairly free role behind the two strikers (or alternatively Rickie dropping deep). ---------------Boruc--------------- --------Yoshida-----Lovren-------- Clyne----------------------------Shaw --------Wanyama---Schneiderlin----- Ramirez------------------------Rodriguez -----------Osvaldo---Lambert-------
Already said this in another thread but I expect Osvaldo will play behind Lambert as more of a second striker than a 'number 10'/free role player or AMC. Osvaldo is the player that tucks back to defend and form a midfield 5. Lallana and Rodriguez on the wings. With Lambert and Osvaldo in the same side there is no room for Ramirez in my view. I really do not rate Ramirez at all on either wing. I expect Osvaldo to be on the bench tomorrow but you never know.
I think its fantastic we are having this kind of discussion. So many class players and so many options. As a life long Saints fan I have to keep pinching myself..
