If you have to relocate for a new job what would be a 'normal' time scale before you could begin work? Is 4 weeks sufficient? Baring in mind I'm a recent graduate with very little possessions so theoretically I could just pick-up and go! I'm having to move down south for a new job.
In my view I would start as soon as possible. If you are seeking cheap accommodation in a university town or city you dont want to leave it too late, get down there and go B&B for a week, what are you waiting for go...go now.. start on Tuesday!!!!
When i did it i uped and went a week after getting the job although origionally the company gave me accomodation but as melu says if need to sort own out it may be worth getting a b and b while looking where abouts is it you are moving too?
Where abouts down south? London turnaround on property is about 2 weeks so you could probably go with that, anywhere else is a month. you don't want to be paying through your nose in a hotel for 3 weeks.
I'm have a position lined up in Bristol and will most probably be living in Clifton. When I went through the interview stages I mentioned that I'm soon to be away on holiday for a week and would require an additional further 3 weeks to make the move. So taking that into account, I have my start date Monday 23rd Sept. Judging by my list of things to do before I move, I may have shot myself in the foot. Procrastination is my weakness.
Ah not a clue about bristol so cant help you there pop ovet to the bristol city board and ask them they seem like a nice friendly bunch im sure they could tell you more
I meant the fans on the board were quite friendly and helpful when ever we played them away they told me some decent places to drink and im sure if he asked them they would be able to let him know what its like there for accomodation
