    For me, Digger was the epitome of Shanks's "Go and play football son!". Liverpool let him do that, England didn't. Liverpool and Digger thrived. England wilted.

    Digger played football beautifully and we loved him for it.

    Nothing has changed. England has some decent talent in Wilshere, Sterling, Ox etc who can play decent football at Club level. But are useless in the England defensive ****ty setup. The only players who thrive at England are the defenders.

    Barnesy was one of those players you knew straight away was worth your money to watch. Class player and a class bloke.

    Barnes and Beardsley was a joy to watch, what i would give to see us have that sort of quality again.
