I spent many hours wracking my brains for an idea as to how everyone can contribute something to the day; I eventually settled on a Book of Memories which we can present to Davidâs wife on the day. I would like the book to be full of happy memories, a positive effect David had directly or indirectly on your life, some sage advice he offered, some little gem gleaned from one of his insightful posts, something that amused you, anything really. Above all else I would like this to be a happy reminder of this forum for his family. Do not attach those memories to this thread, this is just an advanced warning so you can cast your minds back in any quieter moments you may have. I will put up a thread to collate them at the beginning of next month. I appreciate this will be easier for some than others, but hopefully everyone who wants to contribute a story will be able to. On the other hand, if you think it is a stupid idea, say now and we can drop it. Cheers, Roller.
I think it is a great idea - and I will try to come up with something myself although like many, I did not ever meet the gentleman so it will be through this forum
Brilliant idea, especially for those of us who find it difficult to get over there. Well thought out Roller.
Excellent suggestion. It will be a nice keep-sake for his family, and a reminder of how he touched all of our lives.
Shamelessly bumping this back to the top to ensure everyone who wants to contribute has a chance to be prepared...
Thats perfect Roller. Was going through my memories of Brixton just the other day, this would be a good way to get everyones thoughts and memories in one place.
Roller, you really are a star mate. I personally never met Brix but he helped me out in ways that no-one else knows about. I'm happy to put " a version' of his advice forward. id just rather it was done via a PM personally. I'm certain there are others in the same boat too. He helped me out greatly & I'll always be grateful. just not sure I wanna share it with EVERYONE ! Have a think about this when you post your thread please. Cheers
No worries mate a pm will be fine, although I will have the info to blackmail you with for ever, and if anyone browses through the book on the day they will now make a beeline for your entry. Just write what you are happy to say. If it is the story about David persuading you to caravan owners anonymous, we all know about it....
