Huddleston being tipped to play for England reminded me of some past tips - I remember Terry Neal saying Roger DeVries would play for England one day, even Paul Haigh I'm sure was too, Michael Turner...anyone else? people thought Waggy & Chillo should have or would have if they were at a bigger club.
Thudd has one major difference to those names - he has already played for England. Very recently too. If he plays as well as he did for Spurs, he'll get his call up. Hodgson has had him before, so he knows what he can do, and England do not have many truly good midfielders. Hes better than Cleverley or Barry for a start. Livermore has also played for England, and hes not far off if he puts in good shifts for us.
I've seen Waggy feature on many lists on 'best players never to play for England'. Another man who is usually mentioned on that very topic is our Steve Bruce. How the hell did he never get an England cap?
They were talking about him playing for the US but he wouldnt have made the first team squad so he told them no.
I think you need to write "Scottish" in quotation marks... http://www.thisishullandeastriding....tory-13296077-detail/story.html#axzz2cmCUXKlJ There was talk about Jobbo for England back in the day. He got close after leaving City, while at Oldham, but no cigar.
If he has a good season, I see no reason why Liam Rosenior couldn't force his way in next year. Glen Johnson and Kyle Walker are great players, but after that who is there? Martin Kelly? Carl Jenkinson?
That's a big if though. Im a huge Rosie fan and think it's ludricous that one of our best players isnt a regular but while we could hardly complain about the formation last year if we're playing a flat back 4 he should defo be in and Elmo in midfield.
Also Kyle Naughton, Matt Lowton, Craig Gardner at a push. But the outstanding 'next in line' behind the top two for me is Southampton's Nathaniel Clyne. He looks like a proper player.
