Sunderland are reportedly set to step-up their interest in Toulouse defender Cheikh M'Bengue. Sunderland boss Paulo Di Canio has been looking for a left-back all summer with M'Bengue the latest of a host of names linked with a move to the club. The 25-year-old was reportedly offered to Di Canio at the start of the month but they faced competition from Ligue1 giants Marseille. Their interest in M'Bengue has since cooled, leaving Sunderland free to make their move. Fresh reports from France claim the Black Cats are ready to step-up their interest in the Senegal international. The Premier League club value the player at â¬2.5million (£2.13million) as he only has 12 months left on his contract at the Stadium Municipal. Should M'Bengue move to the north-east he would become Sunderland's 11th new signing of a busy summer, following the likes Jozy Altidore, Emanuele Giaccherini and Vito Mannone to the Stadium of Light. http://www.eatsleepsport.com/sunder...n-sunderlands-radar-1620611.html#.UhZ269I3ulU
I'm left footed & can kick a ball. Unfortunately, I'm 46 & have smoked since I was 10 so I guess I'm out Played LB at school like.
Good age, decent price because his contract runs out next year, it's obviously a position we need to strengthen... All sounds ok, has anybody seen him play? Does anyone know if he's actually any good? I know he was pretty good on football manager!
My 7 a side football team when I was at uni were all left footers and the 5 a side team I was in as a kid only had one right footer..... really weird. I started kicking with my left foot because I saw Lee Sharpe and Giggs play as a kid on TV and just though that because they were the best I'd kick with my left foot as well. I think I am probably a natural right footer that decided to play with his left for no apparent reason. That is what annoys me about pros, I was a kid and taught myself both feet to the point where I had no preferred side for any aspect of the game. That took me about 3 years of conscious practice as a kid and very few professional footballers do it in a whole career. Ajax show that it can be taught, Van der Vaart, Sneijder etc. I know I've gone a bit off topic, but I'm just amazed there aren't plenty of players out there who are just full backs that kick with whichever foot suits the situation......
That's what I keep telling my boy. Kick the ball off the wall, right left, right left until he gets used to using both feet. Mind you, I'm totally left footed.
I'm both footed. Both handed too. I'd really **** with fielders at school when we played Cricket or Baseball. Learnt to wear pads on both hips pretty sharpish like. I'm weird.
Im left footed and played left back at school. Its mine to lose now I reckon. Im hoping my son is left footed but he's kicking more with his right so im not happy. He is at 18 month already faster than Larsson though and has passed to me in the new home kit so has a higher % than Seb too.
I play left back at amateur level im not left footed but I have scored a couple of rakers cutting in on my right foot. I would describe myself as a phil Bardsley type full back no nonsense but hopefully less of a twat
I played left back for my school & South Moor Juniors. Used to take free kicks but my speciality was to score direct from corners. Took corners from both wings and even tonked in a couple with the outside of my left boot! Unfortunately I was ****e at tackling and once I got to the age where the physical side of the game become important (coming up against fat bastards with beer bellies who only aim was to snap you in half) I lost interest! Still, might come out of retirement if Paulo comes knocking at my door!
I played right half for South Moor Juniors, 1969-72, the last two seasons we moved our home games to the Morrison Busty Pit ground. When did you play?. Edit; just seen your age on your profile, no where near my time there.
