Well if you go to 36 seconds in the video it appears they need to put the fire out on their fans.

As i said on the other thread, the other week, the US National team is coming leaps and bounds.

    They're competing now at tournaments.

They looked better than England did at the last one in South Africa, and whereas England went out with a whimper, the US team had a go.

And their women's team batter everyone as well.

Dunno much about the fans, but i doubt they price out their main source of income with sky high admission prices though.

US average ticket prices in dollars and then pounds.

    NFL $113.17 converted £72.61
    MLB $26.91 converted £17.27
    NBA $48.48 converted £31.11
    NHL $57.10 converted £36.64
    MLS $26.15 converted £16.78

Might be fun to add the average attendance per league.

    NFL 66,960
    MLB 30,352
    NBA 17,323
    NHL 17,132
    MLS 17,872

Chicago would be a great city for sports. You could go to Wriggle Field and watch the Cubs. Dont go to a black sox game, all true baseball fans can never forgive them for tossing the world series. You could watch the Blackhawks one of the original 6 and of course the Bears. Chicago is probably one of the better cities as far as storied franchises go.

Who are the decent teams in Atlanta, Alabama, etc, I'm off to the Deep South in December, would be decent to see a game but I hear they think football (or soccer) has some kind of homosexual agenda or communist plot behind it so it's not too big in the south.

Yea lost of rural places feel that way about football (soccer). We had a team in my high school and they were the social outcasts.

Alabama has a hell of a stadium you should visit. I played a game on TV there when I was 18 and it is mainly used for Pro scouting and tournaments but I think you can go on a tour if they dont have a game on. It is the oldest Baseball Stadium that is still being used. The outfield walls are still hand painted, well at least it was when I was there.

If you want to watch games in Atlanta (Georgia) then there are only a few choices if you dont want to watch minor league games. Falcons (NHL), Braves (MLB), Atlanta lost their NHL team a couple years ago. The Braves are one of the oldest baseball teams so I would recommend one of their games. They were formed in 1871 in New York.

I know there's a team called the Atlanta Silverbacks but they're not in the MLS, I'll go to Washington too though so guess I could go see DC United.

Texas is part of what we call the Southwest. The South is Virginia down and the deep south is normally a reference to Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina and Louisiana. Sometimes people try to toss Texas and Florida into that but it isnt as much as a geographic reference as it is a civil war reference, the deep south are those confederate states that primarily grew cotton as opposed to things like tobacco in Virginia and North Carolina. Cotton was not as big of a commodity in Texas and Florida.

You could but its a sad stadium. It is the old NFL stadium and as such it will feel completely empty when you go as the entire upper deck has no one in it. If you want a good atmosphere then there are only 2 choices in DC, the Capitals and the Redskins. I have been to all 3 in DC and by far the best is the Capitals. I lived near DC most of my life and worked there for 6 years until I moved to Cali. Trust me go to a Capitals game.

Agreed. I really do not want to see the game Americanised in England. The game should be all the excitement we need.
