Yep, probably means as much (nothing) as the club wetting themselves tonight thinking they've done something remarkable, clever and engaging. Sometimes I get the feeling that Cortese tasks people at the club to come up with a new idea a week. Some of them turn out good (like the uncovered youtube stuff (although other clubs did that first)) and others are bloody naff & pointless, like today's.
This really did make me laugh about the whole thing. How's that increased social media brand awareness going? please log in to view this image
Never mind eh, I prefer that to having SPORTSDIRECT or BET365 stamped all over the stadium. It's relevant to the club and they are trying to draw attention to the club's social media ability - very good quality, although behind MCFC. I'm not really going to see it at games or on TV, nor am I overly bothered to the level of letting it impact my matchday experience. I think it's a cheap gimmick, but hey, in the current climate, it's not as bad as the gimmicks of others.
I don't get how it's going to increase the social media, when 9/10 when seen, it'll be covered? Makes it even more pointless
I heard it was Osvaldo's idea. When he walked round the ground the other day, he told the club staff... "**** me, this place needs some jazzing up, some rock and roll. I'm talking hashtags in the seats, coke lines for pitch markings and cannabis for grass. Once you've done all that, get Artur out here and we're gonna play a massive rock concert for the fans in the centre circle." Reliable source.
I met the guy who actually writes the twitter for southampton in a club in london randomly. His name was jim or something
