Id make subtle changes and hoping PDC may too. I'd go with; ..........................Westwood............................. Olustka......Cuellar........Oshea.............Roberge ......................Cabral..Colback.......................... Johnson............Giacherini.................Sessegnon ...........................Altidore.................................... For me this gives us a bit better coverage defensively but takes nothing away from as attacking wise. Roberge looked very good with the ball at his feet and taking it forward so I think he'd do a great job at left back. Colback will do much better than Larsson next to Cabral and its a must for me that seb is out of the first team Lastly id swap sess and giach, sess went missing on sat and i think he'd give Clyne more problems on the wing than Giacherini and I got the impression the Italian might be more suited to a central role. They'll be on a high and we might have to weather a storm but they'll be much more positive than Fulham which should leave us more space for our own attacks. Not going to make a prediction though as head and heart do not agree.
That but with Diakite in for Cuellar. I really don't rate Cuellar and Modibo should be at full fitness. Also I don't see Sess and Giack swapping.
IMOAJ, Sess and Giac should be able to swap around and change positions during the game. Each one can play in the others position, and the movement would cause problems for the opposition, particularly if they are trying to man mark.
My team will be this, Westwood Olustka Roberge O'Shea Colback Gardner Cabral Johnson Sess Giacherini Altidore Let's smash the little club from the South.
Westwood Celustka - Diakité - JOS - Colback Cabral - Seb Johnson - Sess - Giaccherini Altidore Can't afford to have Ceullar or Roberge playing cb imo. Lambert would give them both a tough time physically. A problem I don't forsee with the tank that Diakité is and O'Shea is also quite strong
Still recovering from that knock he took in pre-season. Not too much has been said about it. Unfortunately with Wes it seems that any knock could turn into something quite serious. He needs to be nursed back slowly.
As a fan of that little Southern club, and seeing that you basically have a new team this season, where do you see your strengths and weaknesses? As I see the game, our fullbacks Clyne and Shaw will push way up the pitch, our back two (for me) Yoshida and Lovren will deal with all the difficult stuff and then **** it all up with some moment of madness, Morgan and Wanyama will completely control midfield, young JWP will spray some lovely passes around but can be bullied off the ball, both our wide men of Lallana and JRod will create a few chances yet not manage to hit the goal, Lambert will be a handfull and create a few chances as well. Be ready for most of the game to be played in your half, but if you defend well we really do lack a plan B. Expect Osvaldo and Ramirez to be introduced at 60 minutes regardless of the score, with lambert playing no10 which really suits his style. Not saying a score, but this is a good time to play you as you have soooo many new players
This too, Gardner can play the attacking midfield role, he has not done it successfully for us yet but he has got a couple of games to prove himself before PDC brings someone else in. When you look at our midfield options Gardner is our best option after Cabral.
Weakness- CM Strengths- Watching the way Fulham parked the bus. We don't have that CM to thread passes through crowds but our front 4 is going to have a field day with any team who gifts us space. That's the reason I fancy us to nick a win against you, you like to attack at home and I think that will play to our advantage. Our strength will be your strength if that makes sense. I'm expecting an open entertaining game. IMO of course
Everyone on your board, to a man, is predicting a home win, us to get relegated and PDC to flip out. As much as people say they detest the media...
In fairness you have signed a million new players, and the only recent example we have of this scattergun approach is QPR last season. For what it's worth though, I think we will lose this weekend, 1-2, after we miss a load of chances and as a poster above mentioned Sunderland catch us on the counter. I also definitely don't think you will go down. You have undoubted quality in your side. I'm really interested to see if Di Canio can bring his new squad together. safe travels down south for everyone coming down!
